Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, runs several programmes in the US to help with patient access once one of our medicines is prescribed. Since Genentech first started providing access and reimbursement support over 20 years ago, Genentech has helped more than 1.5 million patients access our medicines they need.

The United States does not have a universal public healthcare system. While many people have health insurance through private or government-sponsored plans, some people are underinsured or without insurance.

What we’re doing

Genentech Access Solutions helps insured patients navigate the complexities of health insurance coverage by explaining what their policy covers and what they need to pay for, and by helping them to find payment support programmes where possible. Genentech Access Solutions also assists eligible patients who cannot afford their out-of-pocket co-payments through referrals to a Genentech co-pay card or a co-pay assistance foundation for financial assistance. The Genentech® Access to Care Foundation (GATCF) was established to help patients who meet specific criteria to receive our medicines free of charge.

Our impact

In 2016, Genentech Access Solutions helped more than 168,000 fully insured, underinsured and uninsured patients access our Medicines they need. Furthermore, GATCF provided over 24,000 qualified patients with free Genentech medicine.

For more information on Genentech Access Solutions and the Genentech Access to Care Foundation, please see:

1. To be eligible for a Genetech brand-specific starter programme, patients must meet eligibility criteria. Each patient assistance programme has its own eligibility criteria that must be met for patients to receive assistance.
2. In order to be eligible for a Genentech brand-specific co-pay card programme, the patient must confirm that they meet the eligibility criteria and agree to the rules set forth in the terms and conditions for the programme. Please visit the Genentech brand-specific website for the full list of terms and conditions
3. Genentech does not influence or control the operations or eligibility criteria of any independent co-pay assistance foundation and cannot guarantee co-pay assistance after a referral from Genentech Access Solutions. The foundations to which we refer patients are not exhaustive or indicative of Genentech’s endorsement or financial support. There may be other foundations to support the patient’s disease state.
4. To be eligible for free medicine from GATCF, insured patients must have exhausted all other forms of patient assistance (including Genentech brand-specific co-pay cards from independent co-pay assistance foundations) and meet additional criteria.
