Social Media Community Guidelines

We see social media as an opportunity to share what is important to us, and also to stay close to our community and hear your voices. You can interact with us via @mentions, comments or direct messages. We do our best to stay connected with you and reply to queries as quickly as we can. However, as much as we would love to stay in touch, we operate in a highly regulated industry and some conversations we cannot allow on our channels.

So here are some guidelines that we must follow and we ask you to do the same.

Promotion of products or services

We will delete any comment that mentions products, be it our own or another company’s. Commercial content advertising a product or a service will also be permanently deleted. If you have questions about one of our products we invite you to visit medinfo.roche.com or https://www.roche.com/products.htm. The best source of information about products is your healthcare professional.

Adverse Events and Product Complaints

We want to hear about any issues you might have experienced with one of our products, whether it's a medicine, or a diagnostic test, or a device. However, social media is not the best place to do this. Please report all adverse events or product complaints using this page. If you do share an adverse event with us via social media, we may follow up with you and ask for more information in order to report the event. We may remove your post to protect your privacy.

Medical Advice

If you have questions regarding a treatment or medication, please consult your healthcare provider first or get in touch with one of our offices in your country. You can find a detailed list of Roche offices here. It’s not that we don’t want to help, but social media is not the right place to discuss private health information. 

Off Topic

We welcome everyone’s opinion. This channel is an open space for all users interested in discussing the topics published by Roche. We ask that you respect those users who are interested in a genuine conversation by making sure that the conversations taking place on our channel stay on topic and are of value to all users.

We may delete messages that: 

  • Include profanity, defamatory, libelous, offensive, abusive, discriminatory or demeaning language or content (including images, videos and links);
  • Are disparaging, threatening, condone violence or illegal behavior
  • Are excessively repetitive and/or disruptive to the community or are spam
  • Violate the platform's Terms of Use
