European Union Data Act
Last revised: September 2025
The EU Data Act is a regulation designed to create a more harmonised data economy. It standardises data access and usage across the EU, giving users of connected products and related services full control over the data generated by their use of the product. The regulation is built upon three core objectives:
Empower users
Customers with connected products gain full control over their generated raw data.Boost Innovation
Creating an environment where data is used and shared responsibly to develop better solutions and technologies.
Foster a fair data economy
Build and participate in a competitive and transparent digital market across the EU, with raw data sharable to third parties.
The regulation applies in a staged approach, starting from September 12, 2025 onwards and governs personal and non-personal, device-generated data from EU countries.
All data in Roche Systems remains safe and its use compliant, with robust cybersecurity measures and certifications in place. Roche is continuing to invest in complying with these regulations to ensure transparency, data security, and responsible data sharing practices of your data.
