Supplier Code of Conduct
Roche believes that good business means a better world. We deliver medical solutions while striving for economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Our suppliers are business partners with expertise and capabilities that we use to enable improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and business continuity which allows Roche to deliver medical innovations to benefit our patients. We hold ourselves and our suppliers to the same high standards through the Supplier Code of Conduct.
The Roche Supplier Code of Conduct incorporates the 5 auditable key principles of the
Ethics: Suppliers shall conduct their business in an ethical manner and act with integrity.
Human Rights and Labour: Suppliers shall be committed to ensuring the human rights of workers and to treating them with dignity and respect.
Health and Safety: Suppliers shall provide a safe and healthy working environment and support the well-being of workers.
Environment: Suppliers shall operate in an environmentally responsible and efficient manner to minimise adverse impacts on the environment, and to help their own suppliers to do the same. Suppliers are expected to conserve natural resources, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, preserve biodiversity and clean water, and minimize and control the use of hazardous materials.
Management Systems: Suppliers shall use management systems to facilitate compliance and continual improvement with these principles.
In addition to these 5 auditable sustainability principles, we ask our suppliers to protect intellectual property and customer information and promote economic sustainability in their communities.
Collaboration with suppliers for sustainable value creation

Sustainability is a core element of Roche's strategy and central to Procurement's purpose of delivering long-term value for the company and our patients.
One of the key ways Procurement does this is by collaborating with our suppliers to find solutions for some of the world’s most pressing problems. We do this by building sustainability solutions on a foundation of data, partnership, and effective risk management.
This approach enables us to collaborate with our suppliers while keeping sustainability at the core of

our endeavors and their outcomes.
We use risk management to assess suppliers for financial fitness, environmental stewardship, and protection of human rights. A focus on short-term profit cannot deliver sustainable outcomes for the planet and for humanity.
Humans cannot continue exploiting the planet’s resources in ways that too often result in great societal injustice and inequality. We must manage our business so it proactively contributes to social and environmental transformation.
Responsible suppliers and management of

supply throughout the value chain is central.
Roche Procurement-driven sustainability initiatives include helping our suppliers transition to 100% renewable energy — reducing greenhouse gas emissions — developing environmentally friendly methods to recycle medical waste, and partnering with our logistics providers to ensure countries provide safe rest stops for truck drivers.
Sustainability is an integral part of how we do business — but we can always learn and improve.
As a company, we have the power to make a positive

impact on the world’s most pressing problems, while delivering long-term value for our patients across the planet.
Procurement supports Roche in doing now what patients need next — by delivering value beyond savings, by driving sustainability in the communities where our patients live.
It is our duty to ensure we take measures wherever possible to make positive change — and we are committed to supporting our suppliers to do the same.
There is no Planet B.
