Omission
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Due to high fluctuation of external workers on our sites, it is difficult to have an exhaustive number of all external forces. This measure is covered as external agencies costs.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is not disclosing this measure publicly for confidentiality reason.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is currently not disclosing this measure publicly. We are considering reporting on a more granular level in the future.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche's operations follow high environmental and sustainability standards, but they also generate waste. Roche’s 'Guidelines for the Assurance of Safety, Security Health and Environmental Protection (SHE)' define global waste handling concepts; including the guiding principle, that disposal should be safe and ecologically friendly. All new pharmaceutical and diagnostic product design processes include the evaluation of ways to minimize waste from products and packaging, and encourage the use of recycled or recyclable material. Measures, such as recycled input materials and packaging materials of recliamed products are currently being assessed.

Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche recognises climate change as one of the largest global risks and is committed to addressing it as a matter of urgency. Since the early 2000s Roche has been working towards a low-carbon future. Most GHG emissions at Roche originate from the transformation and use of energy. Therefore, the actions taken to reduce GHGs, such as carbon dioxide, focus on all issues surrounding energy usage, e.g., reducing energy consumption and improving energy intensity. Emissions of ODS are currently not part of Roche's KPIs but are considered to be included in the future.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is currently not specifically disclosing the number of new suppliers that were screened using environmental criteria but are considering disclosing such measure in the future.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is currently not specifically disclosing negative environmental impacts in the supply chain but are considering disclosing such measure in the future.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is currently not disclosing this measure publicly as our HR systems do not track such measure at a global level. The organization is considering reporting on a more granular level in the future.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is currently not disclosing this information publicly, as notice periods are managed locally without global alignment.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche currently does not have a system in place to track such measure globally.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): With our focus on natural, long-term growth, Roche depends on the contributions of talented and committed professionals who are determined to drive our progress. In turn, we make sure our work environment supports our employees to follow their personal goals and and pursue their professional development. Roche is currently not tracking the percentage of employees receiving regular performance and career development at the global level; is considering tracking such measure as part of our KPIs in the future.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): At Roche, people are at the heart of what we do. We are grounded in a clear and deep sense of purpose and committed to a culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging and where we can thrive equally. We are building a workforce that reflects the global societies we serve by increasing underrepresented nationalities, by providing transparency on our goals and performance and by maintaining gender pay equity. Roche is currently not tracking the ratio of basic salary and remuneration of women to men at the global level.
In accordance with our company guidelines, training on human rights policies is mandatory for both Roche's and contractors’ employees at all Roche sites (Roche Behavior in Business training module).
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche respects and proactively supports human rights, both in our own operations and our value chain. By applying the principle of ‘knowing and showing’, Roche is committed to avoiding adverse impacts on human rights by focusing on the perspective of the rights holder. Roche is currently not tracking measures, such as incidents of violations involving the rights of indigenous peoples.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is committed to building stronger communities and environments and responding to natural disasters sustainably. We seek to strengthen our connection to local communities with innovative, sustainable projects and partnerships that add value, while respecting local customs and needs. We currently do not track operations with significant impacts on local communities at a global level.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Sustainability is a core element of Roche’s strategy, and central to procurement’s purpose of delivering long term value for the company and our patients. Roche's Sustainability Standards, as outlined in the Supplier Code of Conduct, list our expectations towards suppliers in the areas of ethics, human rights & labour, health & safety, environment and management systems. We are currently not tracking negative social impacts in the supply chain as part of our KPIs.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): To ensure that every Roche product is both effective and safe, we have established a systematic process designed to optimise patient safety throughout the lifecycle of a medicine. We collaborate with regulatory agencies, monitor reports of adverse events experienced by patients and communicate on our product safety activities, as appropriate to the audience. Any medicine may cause side effects in some patients. Our priority is to make sure that the therapeutic benefits of the medicine outweigh the risks. Roche is currently not disclosing measures, such as assessments of health and safety impacts at a global level.
Omitted (Information unavailable/incomplete): Roche is currently not disclosing measures, such as assessments of health and safety impacts at a global level.

Reporting in accordance with GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards

As part of Roche's efforts to advance sustainability reporting, we support the activities of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) as a Community member and advocate its mission to empower decision makers worldwide, through the GRI sustainability reporting standards and its multi-stakeholder network to take action towards a more sustainable world.

Roche has been using the Global Reporting Initiative as a guide and reference point since 2005. In 2018/2019, we conducted a materiality assessment of key topics that are highly relevant to us and to our key stakeholders in accordance with the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards. In 2022, we have declared in accordance with the latest GRI standards published in 2021.
