Every day, Roche’s employees work to develop solutions to society’s most pressing healthcare needs. We place their individual well-being at the very heart of everything we do. By protecting and promoting their safety, health and well-being, we encourage innovative thinking and help them to perform at their best. Our stakeholders, our business and society also benefit, because when our people are thriving, we all succeed.
For Roche, well-being is not a box to check – it is one of our top priorities. We understand how important it is to provide colleagues with the resources and education to look after their mental and physical health. Our expert teams partner to create a global mental health and well-being programme focused on three key principles: protection, promotion and support.
We offer a broad range of welfare support to enable employees to thrive inside and outside of work, including coaching, events and resources. Advice and counselling are also available for those colleagues who need it.
Creating the right working conditions is critical. It frees our employees up to focus on making a difference for patients and society. We foster a culture of belonging where every employee is respected and empowered to make their unique contribution.
We regularly review all our workplaces for potential issues that may affect employees’ ability to thrive. We then work to remove or reduce the impact of any obstacles we identify.
When designing our workspaces, we consider how to make it the best working environment possible. That means getting the light, temperature and ventilation right, but also designing workspaces for inclusion – considering factors like gender and neurodiversity.
We promote mental health and well-being through our global well-being initiative, LiveWell@Roche. Our Live Well Weeks focus on the importance of healthy lifestyles and physical, mental and emotional well-being. Local Community Livewell champions are also on hand with advice on what employees can do to support their own well-being, such as meditation, mindfulness and physical activity.
Every employee also has access to a local employee assistance or counselling programme. This includes support to deal with psychological stress at work, as well as in their home life. At our larger sites, we also offer on-site occupational health clinics.
As a company dedicated to creating a healthier future for everyone, ensuring a safe working environment is integral to our operations. Our workplace safety standards set the bar for our business and comply with all relevant local legislation. We expect our suppliers and service providers to uphold these same standards in their own operations.
Within our business, we work tirelessly to promote safety and minimise the likelihood of occupational accidents and incidents. Through our policies and training, we emphasise the role that everyone at Roche plays in keeping themselves and their colleagues safe. We encourage employees to report any health and safety concerns, so that we can investigate issues and prevent incidents.
