Matthias is an engineer from Munich who was diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), which damages the spinal cord and nerves in the eyes. Simple tasks such as tying his shoelaces became challenging and suddenly his life looked a bit different than before. But he didn’t want his NMOSD to define what makes him, him and continued to embrace the things he loved.
