Roche and Hitachi High-Tech: transforming healthcare together

Since 1978, Roche has collaborated with Hitachi High-Tech to deliver a wide range of diagnostic solutions. From the world’s first multi-channel analyser in the 1970s, to automated immunology testing in the 1990s, the industry’s first integrated, modular analyser in the early 2000s, to our latest innovation, the integration of  Mass Spectrometry at the end of this year,  this partnership has underpinned some of the landmark advances made in diagnostics to date.

Now, 46 years later, the two companies have signed their latest collaboration agreement. Renewing and expanding the partnership for the next 10 years and beyond, the agreement reinforces the shared vision of Roche and Hitachi High-Tech to continue exploring new technologies that address some of the biggest challenges labs are facing worldwide.

Health systems are coming under greater pressure than ever before from a growing and ageing population, resulting in an exponential growth in the demand for testing. Meanwhile, labs are faced with shrinking resources and staffing challenges that make answering that demand increasingly difficult. Together Roche and Hitachi High-Tech are turning these challenges into new opportunities as they develop automated and integrated diagnostic solutions that minimise manual intervention and deliver more tests, faster than ever before. Together Roche and Hitachi High-Tech are supporting health systems to become more efficient, and helping ensure labs can keep up with demand for diagnostic testing. But its impact doesn’t stop there.
