Roche has a long tradition of cultivating interdisciplinary exchanges to foster creativity, inspiration and innovation. Since 2007, we have been bringing together talented students from European Universities in a programme called Continents to explore sources of inspiration at the intersection of science and art, and challenge the boundaries of their thinking.
In 2022, the programme took place for the first time in Arles, France in partnership and collaboration with LUMA Arles. Founded by Maja Hoffmann, LUMA Arles is dedicated to supporting contemporary artistic creation and hosts annual exhibitions, conferences, workshops and live performances.
“LUMA Arles was conceived as a creative campus where thinkers, artists, researchers, and scientists meet - bringing people from different disciplines together is a catalyzer for innovation, creativity and breaking boundaries”
Roche Continents is a philanthropic programme bringing together top talents studying at European universities to engage with renowned scientists and artists, and other students, encouraging dialogue, innovation and curiosity. Students are immersed for a week in theoretical and practical experiences exploring common ground between the arts and science.
