Roche and (RED) have joined forces on a shared mission to raise awareness about the significance of diagnostics and testing in the global fight against preventable and treatable diseases. Thanks to decades of investment in health system strengthening and HIV/AIDS programs, countries throughout Africa have been able to develop more robust health systems that include strengthened laboratories for testing and trained healthcare professionals, which are essential for patients.

We are proud to partner with (RED) in creating awareness and the drumbeat that highlights the critical need for reliable testing and equitable access to healthcare. Working together with new creative collaborators, we can drive the urgency that the fight is not over and inspire people to join us to end AIDS by 2030.

As a global community, we believe that everyone should have access to reliable healthcare. Continued investments in health systems and testing are crucial to fighting pandemics, and as a leader in HIV testing, specifically in sub-Saharan Africa, we are committed to creating greater awareness about the importance and value of diagnostics. The fight against HIV requires unique focus on areas including strengthening laboratories, investing in people and supporting those disproportionately impacted, such as women and girls.

Testing and laboratories are the heart of strong health systems, they however require specific expertise to deliver high patient impact; and this requires strategic and committed investment to ensure they can respond effectively in times of crisis. Training laboratory workers is a critical component that enables and builds the testing capacity needed in the fight against HIV.

Women and girls are disproportionately affected by HIV. Empowering women and girls to understand how to prevent HIV infection and to encourage others to seek testing and treatment is vital to ending HIV at the community level. Women who lead laboratories and inspire other women and girls to pursue careers in science that benefit their communities are truly making a difference. Let us work together to show the world how access to reliable diagnostic tests can change communities and build the future of a generation.

(RED) has been a driving force in the fight against global health threats since 2006. This organization, founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver, has been instrumental in driving awareness and delivering funding to fight AIDS and the injustices that enable pandemics to thrive.

As a proud member of the (RED) partnership, we're committed to the global response to pandemics and are resolute in our dedication to using our resources and expertise to make a lasting impact.

Accurate testing is the backbone of ending any pandemic. A reliable HIV test provides empowering, life-saving information.

With treatment, viral load can be suppressed to the point where it’s unlikely the virus will be transmitted to others. An early positive diagnosis for a pregnant woman can provide life-saving information to help her stay healthy and ensure her child is born HIV-free.

Testing doesn’t end once a person discovers their HIV status. Regular viral load monitoring of the virus arms people with the information they need to stay healthy and empowers them to pursue their dreams.

While our work has already touched countless lives, we recognise that many communities are still unfamiliar with the global fight against AIDS. Our 2023 project aims to bridge this gap, reaching new audiences and raising awareness about the vital role diagnostics play in preventing and treating diseases. We're not just providing information; we're inciting a call to action. Our campaign's purpose is to create a sense of urgency, inspire involvement, and invite everyone to join us in our mission to end AIDS by 2030.
