Data sharing: Striking a balance

In response to a societal trend toward greater access to information about medicines, Roche is implementing new ways to share data from its clinical trials. The Roche data sharing policy provides access to summary data such as clinical study reports and analyzable patient-level data. It strikes a balance between Roche’s commitment to sharing data, while safeguarding patient confidentiality, and the regulatory process. Anyone can request and receive global clinical study reports and other summary reports from Roche. In addition, researchers may obtain access to analyzable patient-level data from clinical trials after their requests have been reviewed and approved by an independent panel of experts.
