The ESMO Annual Meeting is one of the largest medical congresses in the world, with over 17,000 physicians expected to attend. This year the theme of the meeting is “precision medicine in cancer care,” which is fully aligned with Roche’s approach to innovation in cancer treatment.
More than 160 abstracts related to Roche medicines across 15 cancer types have been accepted for presentation during the congress. These presentations include one late-breaking abstract as well as 27 oral presentations, two of which are featured in the congress Presidential Symposia. This body of clinical research demonstrates our continuing commitment to improve outcomes for people with cancer.
Another theme for the meeting, as articulated by the ESMO President and the two Committee Chairs, is that everyone should work together towards one goal – improving patient outcomes. We at Roche completely agree, and the image to the left illustrates how some of our core activities work towards the same goal.
Alongside our data, Roche looks forward to engaging with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders at and around ESMO 2014 on many topical issues around cancer care.
