As Biochemist / Engineer / Master Biochemistry (f/m/d) you start in our R&D sub-chapter “Protein Chemistry” which is part of the “Reagents Research and Development” R&D chapter area of the Roche Diagnostic Solutions organization at our Roche site Penzberg.
The sub-chapter specializes in the research and development of biochemical reagents to enable our diagnostic tests on various platforms. Our sub-chapter members work in a field at the interface of biochemistry, chemistry and molecular biology, in which the design, downstream processing and analytics of protein reagents are carried out to support both the feasibility and development phases of our diagnostic tests - to ultimately deliver »The Power of Knowing«
You produce traditional and novel protein reagents in small/mid-scale to support the feasibility and development of immunological diagnostic tests. This entails the use of established and exploratory/novel molecular and biochemical methods for protein purification, chemical and enzymatic modification, analysis as well as molecular cloning and protein design.
You take over the establishment and validation of robust manufacturing processes and analytical methods for our diagnostic tests’ protein ingredients. This concludes with the transfer of the processes and methods to Production and Quality Control units.
You plan and carry out experiments independently, within the framework of general guidelines, as well as take over the interpretation of analysis results and troubleshooting if necessary. Along with the relevant documentation according to QM specifications.
You proactively contribute to research and early development projects aimed at expanding the department’s expertise and implementing new technologies.
You play an active role in communication and collaboration across the multi-disciplinary project teams as well as specialist knowledge transfer within the team.
This position requires willingness to work with human material.
You have successfully completed a master’s degree study (FH) in the field of biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology or a related course of study. Alternatively, you have completed a comparable course of education endorsed with professional work experience.
You bring in profound knowledge and practical experience in biochemistry, chemistry and molecular biology. Previous experience with antibody downstream processes and analytics is an advantage. Bioinformatics knowledge and hands-on experience is an advantage.
You are a team player with a high level of self-motivation to find solutions and reach goals.
You are proactive, ready to take responsibility and help build high-performing teams.
You demonstrate personal flexibility, resilience and flourish in a dynamic international environment.
