As the Head of Communications, Provider Insights, you would take an active role in shaping the newly forming RIS Business Area “Provider Insights” as well as the Global Communications team in Roche Diagnostics. You lead strategic communications for the RIS Customer Area which is responsible for providing digital solutions for research labs, clinics and patients, helping build a profitable Insights Business for Roche. Your are a member of the Provider Insights leadership team and responsible for the Customer Area’s communications strategy and respective activities to help deliver on business objectives, drive strategic priorities and contribute to positioning Roche in digital healthcare. A trusted counsellor and seasoned expert in business partnering as well as communications, you drive thought leadership, media relations and executive communications for the Customer Area Head and leaders. You also work with communications colleagues across the division to shape the broader Roche Diagnostics narrative and drive more integrated communications to shape the Roche reputation as a key player in digital healthcare.

Together with senior members of the RIS Communications team translate the business and divisional communications vision, strategy and priorities into an overarching RIS Communications strategy for high-impact campaigns that help position Roche in digital healthcare
Aligned with the overarching RIS Communications strategy, develop and implement - together with relevant stakeholders - integrated executive communications and employee engagement strategies
Lead the Customer Area portfolio and related key strategic topic narratives: in partnership with the Customer Area leadership team and relevant stakeholder networks, build a strategic communications plans that help deliver on priorities and maximize impact.
Provide executive communications and leadership counsel to the Customer Area Head and leaders with focus on high-value, impactful employee and external communications. Ensure Customer Area strategic priority topics and campaigns are integrated in RIS portfolio as well as Diagnostics and Group campaigns to internal and external audiences.
Drive and help develop communications concepts and tools to engage and inspire a diverse workforce, equip leaders with the skills to effectively inspire their organizations, and enable colleagues to act as ambassadors for the work they do and the impact the organization has
Maintain sound knowledge of the respective Customer Area portfolio; use knowledge of business and communications insights, metrics, expertise, and decision principles to effectively identify complex issues and address them in respective strategies and plans.
Stay abreast of internal and external developments, industry trends, particularly around digitalization of healthcare, as these pertain to strategic communication, priorities and Agile Ways of Working.

Who you are
Demonstrated experience in managing integrated communications in the digital healthcare space to drive impactful thought leadership across stakeholders.
Demonstrated domain knowledge in healthcare software, related impact, challenges and opportunities.
Proven ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed, diverse organization and VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) environment with enterprise mindset and systems thinkin
Demonstrated ability to influence with courageous authenticity and build trust with individuals at all levels within the organization.

Additionally you bring the following competencies and qualifications:
10+ years of experience in communications, with a focus on external communications preferably gained in the HealthTech, IT, pharmaceutical or Diagnostics industry.
3+ years of experience indirect leadership and managing teams beyond reporting lines is strongly preferred.
International or global work experience.
Outstanding strategic agility: thorough grasp of the digital health / HealthTech industry and regularly applies such to create robust and innovative strategies.
Outstanding consulting skills: active listening skills, ability to extract and quickly process key information, summarize key needs or interests of internal customers, and provide targeted and appropriate coaching, insights and recommendations
Self-motivation: able to thrive in a non-hierarchical, self-organizing environment, where teams form around projects and initiatives.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience, required.
