Reporting to the Global Head of Digital Engineering, you will have an essential part in contributing to our success story. As the Global Head of Mobile Development, you will manage a team of engineers and be accountable for the implementation, delivery and the support of  mobile app solutions.
 

Job Purpose

  • Lead and oversee a distributed development team of mobile (Android/iOS) engineers

  • Develop team capabilities including technical and interpersonal skills

  • Coach & mentor your team members while fostering an environment for people to grow

  • Assign team members to product development projects and support teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions and new features 

  • Collaborating with your team, develop a holistic mobile technology strategy including make vs. buy decisions that enables the delivery of new products, features and solutions 

  • Evaluate and identify emerging technology tools and platforms for delivering a compelling product

  • Manage third-party suppliers, consultants and contractors for mobile software development of consumer, professional and/or patient digital solutions

  • Ensure proper collaboration with neighboring functions within Digital Engineering such as DevOps, Backend as well as peripheral teams such as Usability Engineering/Human Factor, Innovation, Medical, among others

WHO YOU ARE

  • University Degree in computer science, software development or similar

  • Several years of experience developing software that delights users with 5 years mobile application development experience(iOS, Android)

  • Strong tech product delivery background

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing, coaching, and mentoring of a globally distributed team (espousing a servant leadership approach, preferably)

  • Catalyst for change, innovation and continuous improvement, advancing ideas into action

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate complex corporate environments and influence stakeholders and partners

  • Excellent communication, with the ability to explain complex technical problems to non-technical audiences

  • Experience managing complex development partner and 3rd party relationships

  • Ideally you are familiar with agile working methods, SAFe is a plus

  • Fluent English language skills, German, Spanish a plus

  • Experience in software development within a regulated environment (IEC 60601, ISO 62304, ISO 82304, EN ISO 13485:2016 and Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745, FDA Guidelines etc.)
