Roche Diabetes Care Austria offers a unique and exciting opportunity for an executive to lead and inspire in a competitive market, where the importance of customer centricity and agility are key.

As a Country Manager (f/m/d), you will act as an agile leader (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) and ensure all employees live RDC desired state culture. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for Roche Diabetes Care Austria in alignment with the Regional Strategy and developing and implementing plans to achieve the short-term and long-term business objectives of the Roche Diabetes Care organization.

Reporting to Cluster Head for Cluster Head Central & Eastern Europe you will lead an externally focused and agile organization with a mindset and culture that engages our employees to bring our products and services to more patients, while shaping the healthcare system toward long-term sustainability.  

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for setting the strategic direction for Roche Diabetes Care Austria in alignment with the Regional Strategy and developing and implementing plans to achieve the short-term and long-term business objectives of the Roche Diabetes Care organization. This includes responsibility for all main financial goals as well as responsibility for the whole Austrian organization and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

What you also can expect:

  • You are responsible in this role for developing and implementing local plans/strategy that are aligned with the broader global strategy.

  • You contribute to global/ regional strategy by providing input about the local external environment and customers.

  • You are working collaboratively to adapt global and regional strategy to the local healthcare environment. 

  • You are responsible for the country operations to optimize sales and profits and you have knowledge about the local economic, market and industry trends and use trend data to maximize opportunities and minimize risk exposure.

  • You are shaping culture, process, external relationships and business model in this role. 

  • The role implements the business plan on a country level and delivers financial commitments to optimize short term performance and long term growth while ensuring  compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies. So you would ensure cost effective utilization of all assets.

  • You work with the local management team operating committee to prioritize objectives and ensure alignment with global/regional priorities and keep the local leadership team focused, aligned, and integrated. 

  • You establish an efficient/ effective organizational structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities and communicate clear performance expectations, ensuring feedback/coaching throughout the affiliate. Additionally you build individual and organizational capability through effective implementation of Roche programs and practices and development of local strategies/initiatives. 

  • You are a member of the local leadership team and responsible for driving and shaping the agile organizational culture.

  • You also will be the main driver of the One Roche approach.

Who you are:

  • You are a successful leader with comprehensive marketing/ sales experience in larger organisations.

  • You have a Master’s degree, MBA or Ph.D. in a related discipline and progressive leadership experience within a related field.

  • You have the ability to collaborate across borders in international and diverse teams. 

  • You enable and drive transformation towards agility and digitalization, advocating for new ways of working and shaping a learning mindset embracing future skills

  • You have experience of working in a Leadership Team, leading teams & leading leaders.

  • Previous experience in pharma / healthcare / medical devices is an asset

  • You have an empowering and inspiring leadership style and a proven ability to drive change.

  • You have broad experience in people management and are committed to a transparent work environment with a focus on talent development and career progression.

  • You are fluent in German and English.
