Main Responsibilities

  • Acts as lead Market Access interface for Asia markets by ensuring clear and timely input to Region International leadership team, Global Market Access, development projects & franchise teams regarding market access priorities & evidence generation needs
  • Conducts systematic analysis of reimbursement potential for RDC products/iPDM solutions in order to inform strategic decision-making in close collaboration with all relevant internal stakeholders
  • Facilitates development & deployment of payer value propositions for RDC products/iPDM solutions and perform gap analyses in order to direct the development of value stories, health economic models and Market Access toolkits in co-creation with country representatives, as well as with Asia & Region International Marketing & Market Development stakeholders
  • Facilitates sourcing and sharing of strategic Market Access Insights in Asia geography (including relevant pricing and reimbursement status and potential information)
  • Aligns with Regional International Market Access Head on prioritized opportunities and subsequently coordinate with local country Market Access and Business Development representatives to define/align access strategies and support strategic access projects and initiatives within prioritized Asia countries
  • Oversees roll out and execution of market access, pricing or reimbursement strategies within Asia markets in close cooperation with various internal partners in local countries, Asia hub, Region International and other relevant Global functions
  • Provides input into global and local initiatives, such as value based health care, value based pricing and innovative access models
  • Facilitates identification and sharing of Market Access Squad experts across Asia geography who can be activated upon strategic project validation by Region International Head of Market Access
  • Drives/coordinates strategic projects to enhance market access for RDC integrated Diabetes portfolio solutions with both private and public payers
  • Drives/facilitates the roll-out of structure Market Access Planning Frameworks (e.g. APF) in relevant Asia markets
  • Facilitates development of Market Access competency framework and subsequent competency development plans. Leads the MA capability building efforts in the Asia geography
  • Leads identification of evidence generation needs across Asia and ensure equipping Region International Market Access Head with necessary input to Global HEOR/Market Access, MSA, Product Development, SCS Franchise groups
  • Supports generation of local Real World Evidence for RDC iPDM solutions in Asia markets and facilitate roll out of successful RWE protocols across markets in the relevant geographical scope
  • Provides tactical and technical support to local teams for Health Technology Assessments and other MA related policy forums/discussions. Lead responses to ad-hoc requests for economic evidence to gain and/or maintain access and reimbursement
  • Ensures strong alignment of Asia Market Access and Commercial strategies, plans and KPIs by coordinating closely with Asia Hub Commercial representatives
  • Constructively challenges local Market Access strategies and plans (including resource allocation and KPIs) to ensure maximization of access potential
  • Acts as gatekeeper in managing sustainable pricing and tender approaches local in line with Region International and Global guidance
  • Represents Asia the in relevant internal Market Access forums
  • Leverages Market Access best practices across the Asia geography
  • Diligently monitor healthcare trends across Asia region, report impact of changes and implications for RDC’s existing and future portfolio
  • Provides input to Clinical Protocols as appropriate for end points that will support Asia market needs (HTA or reimbursement - Cost-Effectiveness, Quality of Life etc.)
  • Proactively engages with influential Market Access stakeholders at Asia level (e.g. HTA agencies)
  • Supports Asia Market Access advocacy projects and initiatives at industry/TA level
  • Facilitates dissemination of health economic models/assessment results to appropriate internal audiences – e.g. Sales & Marketing teams, including train-the-trainer
  • Facilitates adaptation of Global economic models for deployment in key Asia countries and communicate to target internal and external stake holders
  • Leads development and communication of study/research results through conference abstracts/presentations and peer-reviewed published manuscripts.
  • Ensures clear Market access & Health Policy positioning and associated messaging aligned with Global & Region International Market Access strategies and communicate across Asia
  • Plays a lead role in educating internal stakeholders on dynamics and trends in Diabetes Care related Market Access & Health Policy topics with Asia geographical scope
  • Establishes and cultivate long-term strategic partnerships with key influencers, advocates, champions, special interest groups and other policy stakeholders as well as cross-functional internal partners and stakeholders
  • Drives RDC Asia Health Policy position on relevant external forums within Asia (e.g. industry associations, non-governmental agency, advocacy groups)

Responsibilities, Requirements and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree & preferably Master in Health Economics, Life Sciences, Public Health, Public Policy, Finance, Business or Marketing disciplines
  • At least 5 years’ accumulated Global, Regional and local experience in Market Access (pricing, reimbursement, health economics) & Public Affairs or Public Policy in medical device, pharmaceutical or related industry
  • Ability to develop health economics models independently with minimal support
  • Demonstrated knowledge of global healthcare systems including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies related to medical device or related industry
  • Previous accomplishments include developing and overseeing the execution of breakthrough strategies that have led to considerable financial growth and increased the long-term, sustainable success of multiple products
  • Proven track record of strong internal and external relationships and influencing change
  • Significant experience leading cross-functional projects and presenting to senior leaders/audiences
  • In-depth understanding and consistent adherence to compliance policies in relation to working with third parties, NGOs, policy makers, healthcare professionals and patient organization
  • Asia markets experience highly valued
  • Ability to quickly grasp unmet customer needs and  translate them into business opportunities
  • Ability to distill complex topics into simple and concise messages
  • Ability to transfer analysis, concepts and ideas into inspiring & convincing communications
  • Ability to gain alignment from peers, global functions and country heads, and influence senior leadership
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead teams in a complex, matrix organization
  • Strong communication skills; ability to transfer analysis, concepts and ideas into convincing communication
  • Fluent in English
  • Second regional language - highly valued
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
