What you can expect:

The Roche Diagnostics GmbH Legal Department advises the Diagnostics Division in all legal matters, mainly in Germany. Due to the diversity of inquiries, the Roche Diagnostics GmbH Legal Department is staffed with lawyers, paralegals and assistants at two sites in Germany, who deal with a wide variety of topics.

As Legal Counsel Quality & Regulatory (m/f/d) you will be responsible for advising the areas of Quality, Regulatory and Safety Health Environment (SHE). You will advise independently in a dynamic environment and will thus make an active contribution to the performance of the sites.

In detail, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting and providing legal advice to the Quality, Regulatory and SHE functions in the implementation and safeguarding of regulatory requirements, particularly in the areas of IVD, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and environmental law.

  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the objectives of the business units to be advised are legally protected in the best way possible, and that possible legal risks are identified and prevented at an early stage.

  • Within this framework, you will be responsible for the autonomous drafting, review and negotiation of contracts including the related correspondence and alignment with business partners.

  • The coordination between external lawyers and internal departments in the event of court or arbitration proceedings will also be a part of your duties, as well as the preparation of expert opinions on legal issues for the supported business units.

  • Further, you will conduct compliance activities, in particular training of employees on relevant legal issues.

Who you are:

You have at least 6 years of professional experience as a lawyer or in-house lawyer in the industrial environment. You are also open to new ideas and appreciate working in a performance-oriented environment, based on mutual respect, exchange and cooperation.

Furthermore, you have the following skills and competencies:

  • You hold a law degree from a European university and have an excellent knowledge of European and German business law.

  • Expertise in negotiation as well as in coordinating and organizational work is a given for you.

  • Thanks to your growth mindset, you act with an entrepreneurial spirit, challenge processes and strive for continuous improvement.

  • Furthermore, your experience in working on international projects enables you to build strong networks and to think and act in a solution-oriented manner.

  • Because of your excellent communication skills, your intercultural competence and your fluency in English, you are able to operate confidently in an international environment with discussion partners at all levels; additional language skills, especially German, are a plus.
