Meet Nashreen, Country Study Manager in Canada

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hello my name is Nashreen. I am a nurse by profession and have been working in Pharma for the past 18 years. I have held various roles such as Project Management, Clinical Site Monitoring and Line Manager. I have been at Roche for the past 5 years.

What is your current position at Roche Canada?

I am a Country Study Manager and am thoroughly enjoying the ride. I work in the Immunology, Infectious Disease and Ophthalmology area in the Mississauga office. In my current role of working on Phase 2-3 studies, we are able to bring new treatments to patients who need them by doing now what patients need next.

What can you tell us about your work environment at your location?

In our department we look for highly engaged, detailed oriented individuals, who also like to have fun at work, to fill roles such as Country Study Specialists, Study Start-Up Specialists and Country Study Managers.

At the Mississauga office we have recently implemented a flexible working environment. I really wasn’t sure how I was going to adapt to this new work environment since I am a creature of habit. That being said, when Line Managers put out the request for volunteers, I bit the bullet and took the plunge. I have not looked back since. I love this new flexible environment. It allows me to work in different parts of the building and interact with individuals that I wouldn’t normally come into contact with. I feel it has allowed me to be nimble and creative.

How would you describe Roche as an Employer?

Just as the patient is important to Roche, so are its employees. Roche goes the extra mile in looking after their employees by giving them the opportunity to give back to society in the form of volunteer opportunities, fun, creative activities during the course of the day and internal learning and development opportunities. This is clearly evidenced by the commitment demonstrated by its employees.
