Tell us a bit about yourself
I started my career with Genentech (our US pharmaceutical headquarters in South San Francisco) in a two-year rotational program. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work in various parts of the Pharma Technical organization. This has allowed me to build a diverse background all within the same company. I continue to be challenged every day, and with each new role I feel I am continuing to grow professionally and as an individual.
What is your current position at Roche Canada?
My current role is Site Head in Pharma Technical Quality (PTQ). Our global PTQ function is building a new team within the Mississauga site and we are ramping up operations here. Our team strives to ensure we deliver quality products to every patient. We are exploring new ways of working with a new team in a new environment, which is very exciting and motivating. Building this new team feels like having a startup within an established organization.
What can you tell us about your work environment?
The work environment in Mississauga is pleasant and motivating. It really is a pleasure to come to work and interact with people who are all eager to make their mark in improving the way we work all for the benefit of patients. In addition, the building is so warm and welcoming. The design is sensitive to the environment; there are amazing perks such the onsite gym, natural light, open spaces, and healthful food options in the cafeteria!
How would you describe Roche as an Employer?
I would describe Roche as caring; many companies talk the talk but in my opinion, few walk the walk. Roche values its employees and invests greatly in people development. The company cares about the environment and is serious about reducing carbon footprint, even having goals set around this! Roche is a great employer with tangible engagement in the local community here and throughout the world.
How would you describe the people working here?
The people working here are smart and passionate. It is really the employees that create the work environment and the culture. I appreciate the diversity of thought and the meaningful connections that brings us together professionally, but also on a more personal level.
What would you advise job seekers who want to join us?
Do not worry too much about ticking every single box before you decide to apply. Bring your open mind, agile mindset and resolve to do what is right for patients.
