"I have my team's back"
Every day there are new and unique challenges that I am allowed to face as a group leader at Roche. The organisation of the helicopter flight was something completely new for me and my team. No day is like the next.more
I’ve been with Roche Canada for almost 3 years. I joined Roche after I finished my undergraduate study from the Ivey Business School. Even though pharma is not a traditional career choice for a business student, during the past 3 years Roche has provided me with great learning opportunities to really grow myself in this industry. I’m glad this is how I started my career and I’m looking forward to the new challenges ahead.
I am currently in a hybrid position where I spend half of my time working as a Business Process Specialist and the other half working as a Project Manager. As a Business Process Specialist, I work with cross-functional teams to facilitate and improve business processes. As a Project Manager, I manage the Roche Data Science Coalition, which is a group of like-minded academic and private organizations committed to working with the global research community to collect and share knowledge and healthcare data.
People at Roche are hardworking and collaborative. Everyone brings a different perspective to add to the diversity of thought and ultimately to contribute to our purpose. People are easy to approach and always open to connect and willing to help.
Roche has huge impacts on patients and their families through our products and solutions. One of my close family friends was able to get on Roche medication when diagnosed and now she is fully recovered and back at doing things she loves. We’re also embracing new ways of working by adding more value to the broader healthcare ecosystem - one great example is the Roche Data Science Coalition. For me, it is rewarding to know that my work is contributing to the greater good.
Roche has done a great job at building a collaborative and supportive culture and advocating for good work-life balance. We are empowered and trusted to get our work done with flexibility, to work from home, and to attend personal appointments. We are encouraged to take time off when needed in order to be more productive and efficient at work.
The Mississauga office has great facilities, including the cafeteria, gym and wellness rooms for us to maintain a healthy work life balance. During summer, we can also have lunch outside on the patio in front of the water fountain. Even though we are currently all working from home due to COVID-19 restrictions, I really miss the office and interacting with my colleagues.
