I work in Roche Pharma, situated in Illovo South Africa the road leading to and out of the company is laced with restaurants, a lot of buildings and gautrain station.

Why did you decide to join Roche and why at this location?

Well, the main reason was the opportunity to make an impact: It was the opportunity to learn and improve on the skills I have. The opportunity to make a difference with the little and much I do.

I’m currently on a PA learnership programme and my duties include the following: data management, filing, screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate. Dealing with incoming emails, faxes and post, often corresponding on behalf of my manager; taking dictation and minutes, liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff.

I also carry out specific projects and research, from time to time I book meetings, organise travel and plan, organise and manage events. I mostly carry out admin duties such as preparing papers for meetings, typing documents, maintain and manageable diaries as well as ensuring that all aspects of meetings/conferences are organized accordingly. This excites me because this is the work I really enjoy doing, assisting people is what I’m called for.
