Head of IT (APAC Cluster 2 )

Head of IT will be  accountable to lead Informatics for a group of countries in APAC to meet business goals by engaging in business strategy development, operations, and aligning information and technology as a key driver of affiliate success.  To do this, you will be naturally curious, excel in cross functional collaborations, be entrepreneurial and innovative in approach to proactively identify and solve business problems through a team of highly engaged IT leaders.
 
The position will be leading IT Site Heads (4-8) and ensuring their success in their local affiliates and business partnerships.Collaboration, cooperation and influence within a matrix organisation will be key to success.  Consistent and reliable operations and services, and the delivery of successful projects to the affiliates is the foundation for this position, even when not delivered by your team.  To build on this foundation, you will build or deliver world class solutions and services from regional and global teams. 
 
As a member of the APAC IT Leadership team and of the overall Pharma Informatics (PI) organisation, you are part of driving regional and PI strategy and implementing standards for the overall success of the cluster and the region. Knowing technology, smelling opportunities, being entrepreneurial and agile, being the best, and demonstrating confidence, are key to our ambition to lead us into the future.
 
 
Principle Roles and Responsibilities / Accountabilities:-

  • Lead a team of IT Site Head’s to partner with local affiliates and deliver world class business solutions
  • Excellence in people leadership with a strong focus on skills, experience, and career development, mentoring, coaching, and enabling a high performance, engaging and cohesive team environment.
  • Deliver and operate an integrated set of applications and information services in the cluster that drives commercial excellence, process harmonization and simplification, and excellent user experiences.
  • Drive Adoption Services in the cluster, building a capability that ensures users gain maximum benefit from our IT service offering.
  • Drive the adoption and effectiveness of our Pharma Informatics Operating Model
  • Facilitate business planning, portfolio management and lifecycle management in collaboration with the PMO that facilitates effective investment and decision making aligned with business strategy.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to develop compelling solution & platform strategies, business cases and proposals
  • Strong contribution to the APAC IT Leadership Team in leading IT in APAC overall with a strong contribution to business strategy and leading key initiatives.
  • Drive strong partnerships with internal IT stakeholder groups including Global Infrastructure & Solutions, Application Development and Delivery, IT Quality and Security (SP&A, ADMD, AEO, SQPR), Diagnostics, and the broader Pharma Informatics organization.
  • Budget accountability for the cluster and contribution to regional financial targets.
  • Manage vendor relationships, costs, licensing and related activities; ensure that vendors meet performance expectations and contract provisions.
  • Continually enhance operational efficiency to ensure maximum investment in value adding activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and evolving technologies in order to develop long-term strategic plans for the continued support of existing or future applications and end users.
