The Material Handling Technician - Diagnostics (Contract Position) performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, and supporting logistics areas. This may include receiving and verifying in-coming materials and supplies, preparing bills of lading and shipping manifests, routing shipments appropriately, moving material within the warehouse, distribution and production facilities, filling customers’ orders and preparing orders appropriately.
Please note, there are positions available in multiple shifts (day, swing, night, weekdays and weekends). Roche pays competitive hourly rates and sign on bonuses.
These roles have the potential to convert to full-time positions.
Pack, ship, receive and maintain inventory of product/raw material, and fulfill customer orders. Examines, stocks, and distributes materials in inventory
Perform administrative tasks related to products/materials such as coordinating shipments, preparing, reviewing, filling and maintaining customer orders, preparing shipping and receiving documents, and utilizing database to enter and maintain information related to products/material
Identify issues involving logistics, customer orders, shipping and/or receiving areas
May operate machinery, including a forklift
The Material Handler is also responsible for maintaining and continuously
improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions
Who you are:
High School Diploma or equivalency
Basic computer skills with competency using standard software Packages (Word, Excel)
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Be able to perform basic math calculations
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Thorough understanding of appropriate safety procedures
Roche Supply Chain operations experience
Thorough understanding of the principles and applications of Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 9001
Experience in SAP
This position is based in Indianapolis, IN. Qualified candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Indianapolis.
