The Opportunity

We aim to further shape and advance the way diabetes is treated by leveraging our integrated Personalized Diabetes Management approach (iPDM), we are continuously refining our ways of working to best serve evolving customer and market demand in a seamless and agile way.  As we do so and continue to deliver on our commitment to augment access and market impact, we have moved to one Global Commercial Organization. As part of this journey, the exciting role of Market Access Lead – AEM Cluster has been created to play an essential role in enabling country organizations to focus on servicing customers and patients.

Job Facts & Responsibilities

The Market Access Lead role is a mission critical position to drive our ambition and is responsible for developing, implementing and executing impactful market access and health policy strategies for Roche Diabetes Care (RDC) in the AEM in alignment with the global market access & pricing strategies. The incumbent of this role will have a deep understanding of the cluster market access dynamics as well as an established network that allow him/her to strategically shape and create market access enhancing care for patients and translating this to sustainable business opportunities. The incumbent directly reports to the Head of the AEM Cluster with a dotted reporting line to the Global Head of Market Access, Policy and Evidence Generation, and is a member of the respective Market Access Enabling Networks.

Your responsibilities will fall into the main areas listed below:

  • Regional and local market access strategy planning and implementation: develops and implements market access, related evidence and health economics, pricing and health policy strategies for the portfolio of RDC in (Country/Cluster)

  • Payer insight generation: meets regularly with payers and policymakers at various levels in order to understand their perspective and effectively communicates payer needs to global in order to influence strategy development and global deliverables; accountable for local market access landscape assessments and insight generation; ensures payer value story resonates with local payers; monitors, evaluates and identifies specific market trends and evolving competitive market access strategies, proactively adapting to emerging trends

  • Market access evidence generation: partners proactively with local payers and global market access to develop local evidence including health economic modeling to reduce payer uncertainties, close evidence gaps, and support payer submissions / negotiations

  • Innovative pricing: negotiates and partners with regional and local payers to develop new contracting models to optimize/ accelerate reimbursement approval

  • Price approval: Supports the development of business case for price approvals by the Global Price Approval Board, in alignment with Commercial Finance

  • Policy Development: works with payer, patient groups, KOLs to identify policy and guideline opportunities and solutions

  • Partnerships: contributing to identification and deployment/expansion of local and/or Regional private/public partnerships which can enable RDC to address gaps in Access to Care within (Country/Cluster)

  • Training: plays a lead role in educating internal stakeholders on dynamics and trends in Diabetes Care related to market access & health policy topics

Experience, Skills, Knowledge

  • A minimum of 5 years of medtec and/or pharmaceutical industry with 2 years in a senior market access function

  • Master’s Degree & Post Graduate Qualification in Health Economics, Life Sciences, Public Health, Public Policy, Finance, Business or Marketing disciplines

  • Extensive payer-facing experience in pricing and reimbursement at the country/ regional level

  • Demonstrated success and experience supporting diabetes product launches in the market and growing them post-launch

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to operate in a complex, dynamic marketplace

  • Previous accomplishments include developing and overseeing the execution of breakthrough strategies that have led to considerable financial growth and increased the long-term, sustainable success of multiple products

  • Agile, strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement innovative reimbursement/pricing strategies

  • highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of market access strategy, opportunity and risks

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
