As a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, you will focus on an exploratory research project developing and applying a Blood-on-Chip platform.

Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) is a global function within Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) which covers several research areas including Immunosafety and Investigative Safety. As part of the Investigative Safety and Immunosafety group, you will work in close collaboration with scientists from different departments within PS/pRED to generate and integrate molecular, cellular, tissue, and functional data with the goal of delivering unique and holistic insights into drug safety and enable informed decisions to bring the best drugs to patients.

The position:

In this position, you will develop and apply innovative in vitro microfluidic models of the human vasculature to enhance the physiological relevance and predictive value of cytokine release assessment with the final goal of enabling a better translation of preclinical findings to the clinical setting.

This position is sponsored by the Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.

The RPF Program has the ambition to build and maintain the Scientific Leadership of the future and to provide leading Roche scientists with the opportunity to collaborate with talented postdoctoral researchers, and leading academic research groups, from around the world. One of the key aims is to advance basic science and technologies that will be published in top-rated, peer-reviewed scientific journals if necessary preceded by priority patent applications.

The duration of RPF project is initially set for two years, with the possibility of extension for a third year. You will be based in the Roche Campus in Basel.
