Laboratory IT Workflow & Migration Specialist (Temporary 3 years Contract - Possible to convert it to Permanent Headcount)

As part of Roche Information Solution (RIS), Global Customer Support (GCS) is the global organization responsible for technical services in the Roche Diagnostics Division. GCS, with approximately 600 employees, has sites in Rotkreuz, Mannheim, Penzberg, Meylan, Tucson, Pleasanton, Sant Cugat, Panama, Bogota, Indianapolis, and Santa Clara, building a worldwide network of support and training centers, which educate and provide assistance to local and regional service staff in the Roche Diagnostics affiliates and its external distributors.
In this position, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of M2i projects together with local teams of Laboratory IT Specialists with the goal of accelerating the migration of Roche legacy middleware solutions to Roche cobas infinity central lab by taking over standardized and centralized off-site tasks in close collaboration with the regions and affiliates.
The GCS Migration Execution Team is primarily focusing on the “central part of the migrations” that can be done remotely in a factory-like approach in order to reduce the duration and onsite efforts for the migrations to a minimum.
This migration of legacy IT solutions represents the starting point to facilitate the future evolution of Roche IT solutions and the Migration2infinity (M2i) program is a key enabler on this journey.
Main tasks and responsibilities
We are looking for a Laboratory IT Specialist for the migration of our Roche IT legacy middleware solutions to cobas infinity 3.x.
For the selected migration projects,
Execution of migrations (remotely or on-site) in alignment and close collaboration with the APAC program´s Management team, APAC Lab IT team and local APAC affiliates
Contribution of the positive feedback loop and to continuous improvement by evaluating the effectiveness of migrations
Contribute to the requirements packages for Tools, Processes, and Products
Contribute to constant knowledge flow by sharing best practices combining knowledge from medical laboratories and their workflows/processes with product knowledge
Provide technical product support and expertise to our local affiliates for our laboratory information solutions (remote or on-site)
With your knowledge of laboratory workflows, you understand customer needs and build a bridge between customer and technical departments like development and 3rd level support to ensure fast resolution of customer requests
Maintain contact and communication with our local affiliates with the objective to achieve a high standard of customer satisfaction

Bachelor degree in IT or education as Lab Technician with IT background for several years or equivalent professional work experience including instruments
Minimum 2 years of experience in Lab Organization (Medical Lab Technician, Lab Manager) and Hospital, IT Networks, Interfaces, and Database
Minimum 2 years of experience in service & support for IT products
Experience with HIS/LIS, ASTM, HL7, and communications protocols in general
Strong communication skills and proficiency in verbal and written English is essential.
Explicit problem-solving attitude as well as experience with working in a customer-oriented way in an interdisciplinary environment
Working in a customer-oriented and international environment motivates you and you are open to travel (up to 40%)
