As a Manager, Real World Data (RWD) Domain, internally known as Data Steward, you will contribute to the Diagnostics Data Strategy by executing efforts leading to making RWD FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable). As an experienced RWD practitioner, you will be contributing to the RWD Domain foundations (included but not limited to: RWD Access and Governance, RWD Processes and Systems, RWD Compliance/Policies and RWD Knowledge) by leading, providing expertise or aiding to specific projects and initiatives as well supporting daily operations of the RWD activities in Diagnostics.

Reporting to the RWD Domain Team Lead, you will work closely with your peers - other RWD Domain Managers (Data Stewards), Diagnostics Data Office, key stakeholders across the entire DIA organization and other RWD teams in Roche Group.


  • Provide expertise and develop the RWD Domain foundations.

  • Identify key RWD stakeholders needs for RWD data and respective RWD sources to satisfy those needs (e.g. licensing, collaborations, spotlight projects).

  • In collaboration with Group RWD functions, negotiate with the data source owners to make most possible and complete RWD available.

  • Ensure contracting and proposals and protocols with collaborators follows internal requirements.

  • Make RWD findable - establish and maintain an RWD catalog.

  • Define access rules and manage access requests for the RWD assets.

  • Define, review and safeguard RWD domain-specific processes, and procedures for data maintenance (e.g., methods, standards) and data usage and applications to ensure the highest quality outcomes.

  • Define needs, identifying possible providers and/or managing development of the RWD analytics systems and technologies enabling faster and more efficient RWD analyses.

  • In collaboration with respective functions, co-create Diagnostics internal RWD policies and compliance processes.

  • Developing RWD domain training strategy and contributing to its implementation.

  • In collaboration with other RWD Group functions, develop and contribute to the Diagnostics RWD knowledge repository enabling users an efficient and fast access to the company’s RWD know how.

  • Contribute to an effective RWD communication.

  • Acting as role-model for Agile behaviors, as well as for our culture, mindset & behaviors as defined in We@RocheDiagnostics.

  • Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Pharmacoepidemiology or similar areas of academic discipline

  • Minimum of 4 years hands-on RWD experience with demonstrated increase in responsibilities over time

  • Good understanding of the RWD environment and market trends

  • Practical experience with RWD operations as a user or a contributor

  • Good understanding of data privacy, governance and policies

  • Good understanding of data science and data technologies

  • Results-oriented, diligent and has a sense of urgency. Assertive, responsible for his own (self-directed) work, and is willing to commit to deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with a strong desire to work in multifunctional teams

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed, cross-functional environment

  • Constructive problem solving mindset

  • Good knowledge of English in a business environment

  • Prior experience working in Diagnostics industry is a plus
