Why are we hiring a Medical Manager Oncology?
We constantly strive to develop our colleagues, which is why our current Medical Manager Oncology is taking up a new challenge. Therefore we are looking for a new colleague to reinforce the team! As a Medical Manager, you will be the integrated medical partner within the Customer Driven Team (marketing, medical, market access, customer engagement). You will report into the Chapter Head Medical.
What can you expect in the role?
You are looking for a role with repetitive tasks? This we cannot offer… What we can offer is a role with a broad scope of responsibilities. Not only will you have a direct impact on patients’ life by being the expert in your domain, you will also actively contribute to the team and whole organization. For example: the co-creation of the integrated strategy and exploring new and/or broaden existing expertise. You will work very closely with our colleagues from Market Access in order to ensure patient access. Next to being involved in the reimbursement files, you will also work very closely with the clinical department. A very important responsibility as Medical Manager is to ensure scientific correctness and medical governance of promotional and non-promotional material. You will help the team in generating and disseminating medical data and next to this make sure that our dedicated stakeholders are properly trained and medical educated.
It is all about the patient; therefore an important piece of your role is looking outside our organization: what are the needs of our customers? By, for example, setting up and implement medical projects. This means: setting-up, implement, follow-up and adapt where necessary. You develop solid contacts with the Therapeutic Area Leaders (TAEs) and ensure HCP contacts within the therapeutic field. You will lead medical ad boards to gain insights, discuss medical activities and participate at congresses.
Ultimately, this will result in doing now what patients need next!
If we could dream… how would you look like?
Let us start with the basics. We need you to have a scientific education, preferably a Medical Doctor. If you are not a Medical Doctor, no worries, a Scientific Master or PhD degree is perfectly fine as well. We will not be able to start from scratch, so some experience (1-4 years) as a Medical Manager, or as Medical Science Liaison is required. You master our three most important languages in the office: Dutch, French & English. You love to go outside! Travel and in-field presence are no issue for you.
What else? Having a strong and solid scientific basis in oncology (with a preference in breast and lung cancer), we need you to have a clear and good communication and presentation style. You talk science in a comprehensive way and adapt your style according to the unique needs of the audience.
Agility is important for us, which means you are flexible, highly adaptable and adapt very easy to change. Part of our agile mindset is the active leaner mindset, where you learn from success and failures. You actively share your best practices or failures within the team. In the team, you connect easy with colleagues, because of your warm-hearted, open-minded team player attitude. This results in an open attitude in giving and receiving feedback. We work as a team, so naturally we also expect that you take up accountability and collaborate towards shared objectives.
Doing now what patients need next also means you have a clear customer-focused approach where you put the patient in the center. You easily build and maintain partnerships and networks (internal, external, local & global). Within the complexity, you easily anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, because you clearly understand the business needs and you are aware of the bigger framework.
The “eternal optimist” is how your friends would describe you. This optimism, in combination with your honesty, integrity and authenticity, will result in confidence and trust. You have a sense of urgency and enthusiasm, but will always operate in a compliant way.
If all of this sounds familiar to you, you might be the colleague that we are looking for!
