Research Associate in Neuroimmunology (M/F/D)

  • Plan, execute, analyze and interpret complex in-vivo studies in the area of neuroimmunology, including efficacy of therapeutic agents and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) biomarker studies in rodents
  • Co-develop and refine rodent models to address project-specific questions
  • Collect biological samples from rodents for ex vivo analyses, maintain records of tissue banking and oversee deposition and distribution of samples
  • Handle both rodent and human brain tissue samples (work in BSL2 environment), prepare tissue sections, tissue lysates and primary cells using various extraction methods
  • Develop and optimize biochemical (e.g. enzymatic) and immuno-based assays
  • Perform ex vivo analysis of primary isolated cells (e.g. flow cytometry analysis, sorting, acute cellular assays)


  • Diploma, BSc or MSc degree in Life Sciences, certification for performing animal experiments with 2 or more years of relevant in-vivo experience
  • Expertise in in vivo dosing (i.p., i.v., p.o.), perfusion, tissue collection and preparation for biochemical and immunoassays is required; experience with animal surgery is a plus
  • Expertise in immunoassays, in protein, lipid and RNA extraction methods
  • Experience with flow cytometry, cell culture methods (maintenance of cell lines, basic cellular assays) and/or in situ hybridization/RNAscope techniques are of advantage


  • Excellent computer-based data management and record-keeping skills; a background in basic biostatistical data analysis is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to report your results to the team; good command of the English language is a must (speaking and writing)
  • You must like an independent working style and troubleshooting in a multi-departmental and international pharma research environment with the motivation to build your Matrix-leadership skills
