Working alone and/or with other site personnel along with managing service contractors, you are responsible for a wide range of operations and maintenance activities related to the managing, installation, removal, repair, and alteration of the Site’s electrical (power infrastructure (12v to 480v), emergency generators, lighting, controls, solar PV, Fuel cell) and secondarily mechanical (HVACR systems and equipment –DX units,, refrigeration equipment, heating system, hot water boilers, plumbing, and temperature control units), Controlled Temperature Units (CTU’s), and other utility systems and site infrastructure.
Maintain all facility electrical systems in accordance to all applicable codes, standards, and specifications, including electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment. This will include all main switchgear, main breakers, UPS units, generators, transfer switches, motors and control centers.
Manage the thermography testing of electrical equipment
Work with the Siemens (controls) Building Management System to understand and acknowledge alarms, and monitor systems and equipment.
Manage the Enlighted lighting system.
Documents and maintains records related to projects, maintenance, and repairs. Uses SAP Plant Maintenance for extensive documentation of general equipment information and preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
Develop, monitor, and control annual budgets for assigned maintenance and repair services. This includes budgets associated with internally performed maintenance and external service providers.
As needed, manage the execution of small capital and repair projects (typically under $250k). This can possibly include equipment selection through startup and commissioning, and final as-builts. Proactively identify potential projects before they become reactionary.
Ensures compliance with GMP, GLP, SOPs, and safety standards and practices. Meets and works with other leaders in coordinating associated activities to meet objectives and timelines. Provides technical support on new and existing equipment and projects and may include assistance in design review, construction participation, start-up, and commissioning.
Licensed/certified electrician, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience, or technical/trade school specializing in electrical
7 plus years of hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of electrical system and equipment
4 plus years of hands on experience of controls systems.
3 plus years of hands on experience mechanical systems of various HVACR systems and equipment.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Siemens and/or similar Building Management Systems and make moderate program modifications as needed.
Demonstrated experience with supplier and contractor supervision
Applicable working experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc) and/or Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc)
Experience working in a regulated R&D laboratory environment or high tech manufacturing industries.
Must be able to work all shifts with flexibility to be “on-call” 24 hours on a rotational basis to manage any emergencies.
10 plus years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and controls, along with less experience in mechanical and plumbing systems
Supervisory experience, though there is no direct reports
Associates or Bachelor degrees specializing in electrical or mechanical systems is preferred.
Working experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, hi-tech industry
