The Senior Technical Project Manager is a project manager role within an engineering organization. Your responsibilities are to work closely with product management and adoption leads and partner with the product delivery teams from software engineering to deliver and evolve the Edge platform. The role could also include leading critical initiatives or other special projects within engineering (e. g. security projects, technology assessments). The candidate should have a strong foundation in agile methods and be able to also lead and contribute to agile improvements.
Your main responsibilities will include:
SW Project Management: technical project management for one or more projects within Edge platform engineering consisting of new platform elements or major versions of them. Responsible for the planning of the technical delivery, ensuring team accountability and software quality of the releases. The role will be the single point of contact to the project core team and represent engineering, owning the delivery process, planning, reporting if engineering is on track and managing contingencies.
General Technical Project Management: within Edge platform engineering, taking on special projects and initiatives such as vendor or technology assessments, internal corporate initiatives, continuous improvement projects, resource management, portfolio and roadmap management
Agile Best Practices: Defining standard methodologies within the engineering platform ensuring an agile flow of delivery in collaboration with the agile product delivery teams
Platform Components/Services Ownership: In collaboration with the Platform Owners, you may take ownership over specific requirements related to platform components or services, defining the details and prioritizing based on other developer needs.
Who You Are
We are looking for a motivated and committed person able to inspire our team oriented towards the values of passion, integrity and courage!
Moreover you bring:
BS degree or equivalent in a directly related field (CS, Eng, etc.)
5+ years of experience in managing agile/scrum development teams
Experience setting up agile tooling to facilitate the team tasks and ensure the traceability of all the work and activities in mainstream tooling (e.g: Jira/Bitbucket, GitLab).
Experience deploying software in the Edge under regulated environments, understanding the processes and related limitations and establishing automations to overcome them.
Demonstrable technical background that ensures the understanding of the needs and key success factors for platform elements and services.
Ability to manage engineering outcomes for multiple enterprise-scale software development projects from concept to launch
Experience working in large, preferably global, software organizations, working across multiple locations with multiple software directors, managers and teams to deliver software releases to market
Hands-on mentality regarding reporting and status updating; willingness to create fit-for-purpose presentations and meaningful dashboards
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely explain sophisticated organizational or technical problems
Strong interpersonal skills, with proven track record to navigate complex corporate environments and influence stakeholders and partners
Certification in agile such as PMI-ACP, CSM/CSD, or SAFe.
Hands-on software development experience in either Java or C++/C# is nice to have
Experience in healthcare is not required, but familiarity with healthcare systems and data and workflows is a plus (e. g. HL7, IHE)
