External Workforce Network Lead Americas 

In the context of Agility and Digitization, External Workforce is playing an increasingly important role in enabling business agility to rapidly respond to capacity and capability gaps. The Roche External Workforce Area goal is to define External Workforce strategies and streamline related processes to ultimately enable a Total Workforce strategic approach, contributing to ensure the availability of skills and capabilities for now and for the future while ensuring a compliant approach. We are looking for an experienced professional in the External / Contingent workforce topic, with a partnership and consultative mindset, HR background and relevant Change Management skills to coordinate the External Workforce community within the Amercicas Region and develop initiatives that will support the External Workforce Strategies for designated Business Areas.

Reporting to the External Workforce Lead in People & Culture, the primary responsibility of this role will be to coordinate Americas affiliates efforts to sustain the External Workforce Framework continuity and support affiliates and designated Business Areas to enable the Total Workforce conversation as well as different initiatives related to external workforce strategies. 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Always looking at the People and Culture strategy holistically, operates as an expert and strategic advisor by translating the Business and People Strategy of the assigned areas and Geographies into an External Workforce Strategy.

  • Coordinates the External Workforce Framework Governance within the region, facilitating cross functional connection and necessary alignment among all the involved areas.

  • Assumes the Regional coordination of P&C concrete accountabilities in the External Workforce Framework for the assigned Region, with special focus on talent stratregic topics for all geogeographies and the onboarding to offboarding for countries without local specific coverage on P&C on the topic.

  • Works closely with key People & Culture roles and key areas involved in the External Workforce process, creating a strong and engaged External Workforce community for the respective network in which discussing relevant External Workforce Framework topics and sharing of best practices & know-how.

  • Act as a catalyst and change agent to the IWS roles in the network by removing obstacles, providing guidance and fostering the external workforce framework and strategies to enable a total workforce approach.

  • Assess trends, consult with and support the business and P&C business partnering roles in key strategic projects for external workforce augmentation of key skills (i.e digitalization). Utilizes data and insights (beyond KPIs) and lead scenarios analysis to support strategic decision making on a Total workforce approach. 

  • Create business cases and strategic models supporting innovative solutions for increasing the access to the targeted skills (i.e. labor clouds, talent pools), including internal and market data sources. 

KEY SKILLS / CAPABILITIES

  • Deep knowledge and senior experience related to contingent workforce industry, especially in the US. This may include Contractors, Consultants-SOW, Managed Services, direct sourcing, cloud solutions, talent pools or crowdsourcing, MSPs or GPOs.

  • Fluency in building business cases and strategies modeling, with ability to develop and manage both conceptual and financial models. Several years of work experience in management consulting on the topic. ideally gained with in one of the known consulting firms or substantial equivalent experience

  • Experience in External workforce governance.

  • Experience working with cross functional project teams for both operational and strategic initiatives

  • Senior stakeholder management capacity

  • Track record of creating strong networks and collaborative relationships
