Role Purpose

As the International Business Leader for Enterprise Platform, you will be a member of the Healthcare Insights Lifecycle Leadership Team. You own the productization of the NAVIFY Enterprise Platform, development of the platform-as-a-business models and drive adoption of the platform by internal partners as well as external ecosystem partners. Where appropriate you also facilitate leveraging ecosystem partners’ platform capabilities to enable seamless integration and user experience in the digital ecosystems that Roche orchestrates or participates in. You are driving the development and execution of the platform-as-a-business strategies by enriching NAVIFY Platform value proposition for external partners. 

You manage the entire scope of NAVIFY platform including the platform capabilities such as  cybersecurity and infrastructure services, common application services, data activation services, partner integration and interoperability services.  

You develop the NAVIFY Platform product strategy and you own the roadmap to support the applications that are adopting the NAVIFY Platform.  You are responsible for the end to end definition and execution of the NAVIFY platform’s vision, strategy and uptake across the pertinent businesses in our organization as well as by external partners whose applications will be part of the digital ecosystems orchestrated by Roche.  You build and develop a winning team of Product Managers and Product Owners to deliver on the NAVIFY Platform’s strategy and roadmap. You are also responsible for managing stakeholders upwards and downwards, and directing cross-functional teams to align on the platform strategy.

You are actively supporting the internal and external stakeholders deliver on their overarching priorities contributing to a holistic customer solution approach.  You are continually leading the incubation of innovative solutions to enhance the value of the platform. You are actively leveraging and integrating external innovations to strengthen and complement NAVIFY Enterprise Platform. You are enabling an open source mindset to enrich the platform value by continually driving modular design and reuse across the Ecosystem. 

You will be a key interface in translating customer and business needs, as well as strategy on several levels into clear priorities for the Enterprise Platform program team, so as to guide the focus of the experts and squads. As such, you will closely work with other Lifecycles teams and others across Roche Diagnostics, Roche Pharma and external partners, who are key stakeholders in many of the use cases being served by the Enterprise Platform Portfolio.  

Your responsibilities will require you to…

  •  Drive business results and customer value

  • Be accountable for the success of the overall Enterprise Platform portfolio, ensuring early developments have a path for driving business results.

  • Create the long-term strategic vision and product roadmaps for Enterprise Platform portfolio, working closely alongside internal and external stakeholders

  • Primary point of accountability, as it pertains to delivering the NAVIFY Platform capabilities needed by internal customers i.e. Pharma PHC, DIA RDS as well as external partners. 

  •  Identify new growth opportunities and manage portfolio risks for NAVIFY Platform

  • Develop and update the business cases and business plans for execution of the platform as a business strategy 

  • Monitor market and customer feedback for lifecycle activities, and take appropriate actions to drive performance

  • Manage stakeholder issues related to the Enterprise Platform product portfolio

  • Ensure availability of the platform features for adoption in right quality, fit, cost and time

  • Leverage external technology innovations via licensing and partnerships to enrich NAVIFY Platform capabilities

  • Design and execute strategy and features to enable integration with the preferred partners’ ecosystems, platforms and applications. 

  • Build on priorities from Customer Areas, LCTs, external partners, define common objectives and KPIs for the success of the platform and the ecosystems  

Advance the work of RIS, making tradeoffs and breaking silos

  • Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (platform consumers) on platform capabilities across RIS, RDS, PHC and the broader Pharma organization.

  • Develop and manage effective relationships with the platform stakeholders i.e. the LCTs, chapters, other internal stakeholders, ecosystems partners and external app developers

  • Mobilize the organization to support the platform strategy, development and adoption

  • Break down silos and improve working effectiveness as an ‘integrator’ across the organization as needed; in particular through collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders to resolve escalated bottlenecks and dependencies, as well as, rebalance work & help in line with greater strategic priorities 

  • Enable the organization’s New Ways of Working

  • Establish, lead and maintain a highly effective multifunctional Team 

  • Engage the cross-functional organizations towards a joint vision and common goals around our long-term strategic ambitions

  • Provide guidance and mentorship for the organization 

  • Act as role-model for Agile Leadership behaviors, as well as for our culture, mindset & behaviors as defined in We@RocheDiagnostics

  • Model behaviors to support the organization’s transformation to new, more Agile Ways of Working – e.g. new decision making/governance practices, collaboration, etc.

As an International Business Leader for Enterprise Platform, you bring:

  •  10+ years of progressive experience as a leader in the field of digital platforms and products, with business management experience, and budget responsibilities

  • Experience in the health IT and digital health domains is preferred

  • Experience in creating or leading platform as a service (PaaS) business and digital ecosystem development

  • Experience in developing platform and product strategies & roadmaps in a collaborative and cross functional environment.

  • Strong familiarity with the modern platform development and deployment models and technologies

  • Preferably experience with healthcare data activation focused platforms and digital health ecosystem enablement

  • Experience with successfully incubating, growing and retaining a developer ecosystem around a digital health platform 

  • Experience owning a platform or product portfolio through the end to end lifecycle

  • Experience leading small sized teams, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate teams to make a big impact, while making authoritative business decisions, executing decisions, and accounting for the results of the team.

  • Consistent record of building collaborative relationships with peers and teams, helping cross-functional teams address strategic opportunities and solve problems across the organization

  • A desire and openness to learning and continuous improvement, both for yourself and your team members

  • Management of complex projects with ambitious milestones in high pressure circumstances

  • Experience with projects that required activity/milestone achievement to launch the product.

  • Experience of challenging senior management in relation to data and resources.

  • Global launch experience preferred for projects in a commercial phase.

  • Ideally, pre-existing network of Roche contacts in global functions and affiliate sites.

  • Good understanding of software quality management systems, regulated software in healthcare and agile

  • Experience of product development processes and methodologies (for agile software development)

  • Senior-level experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing people and teams to drive customer focus in our mindset, work priorities and collaborative behaviors

  • Evidence of strong strategic thinking, communication, planning and organizational skills required, e.g., through experience successfully leading and executing strategic initiatives

  • Able to foster positive partnerships through effective influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills to achieve alignment up and down the organization

  • Commitment to the organization’s new way of working through greater collaboration and breaking down of siloes

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including clear, succinct and timely communication and proven ability to foster and build important relationships with customers and key stakeholders

  • Ability to navigate within a changing organization, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication and consensus building skills

As this position is a global role, international business travel will be required depending upon the business location of the successful candidate and ongoing business project activities.
