The Marketing Manager, Custom Sequencing Solutions, develops and executes strategies and tactics for the US Affiliate Marketing Department of the Sequencing & Life Science business unit. This role works with internal stakeholders to develop and promote customized DNA and RNA Library Preparation solutions for high-throughput next-generation sequencing customers. This position will lead and support Marketing-related activities including, but not limited to:
Work with Sales and the OEM Sales Director to help define customer requirements and determine product specifications.
Collaborate with Global colleagues in the US and South Africa to assess business cases, inform product feasibility, and create customized solutions for specific customers
Align with internal colleagues to drive new custom products through the launch process.
Perform ongoing Custom product management (e.g., forecasting, pricing) in response to changing needs of existing customers
Promote customization services through key marketing and lead-generation activities, such as digital marketing, sales collateral, trade shows, white papers, and educational material
Manage partnerships with external collaborators in this customer-facing role
Post-pandemic, leverage targeted field travel with the Sales Force to translate market and customer requirements into product solution suggestions
Work with the leadership of Sales and Marketing, Global partners, and local Sales and Support & Applications teams to create continuous alignment for business strategy and tactics and help the Sales teams reach their revenue goals
Advise and manage stakeholders by reporting on special projects, business challenges, and opportunities to senior management
Instill leadership through others by acting as a role model to drive impactful business solutions and positive change, encouraging, motivating, and empowering others and helping others to succeed.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
5 years of marketing, business, sales or related business experience
Possess experience in translating customer requirements into product solutions
Strong preference for candidates with knowledge of and experience in next-generation sequencing
Preference for candidates with demonstrated experience in product management and marketing
Possess a strong business and financial acumen
Exhibit strong team leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work well with others
Possess strong project management skills
Have the ability to travel domestically as needed (post pandemic)
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
Reside in or willing to relocate to the Indianapolis, IN, area.
