As a Commercial Contract Lead, you are a passionate customer-centric individual who enjoys meeting with customers face-to-face, and you are as charismatic as you are analytical. You balance your financial expertise with your strong business acumen, and act as a partner to our leading customer accounts.. The Commercial Contract Lead is part of a regional squad that supports a province(s) across our in vitro diagnostics portfolio. Guided by your knowledge of the public tendering process you will be the face of Roche to the key account CFO/CPOs/Procurement Leaders in the Province(s). You will use your financial acumen to provide operational support (bid creations, public tender responses, contract management & monitoring) to the squad and provincial customers. You are a skilled negotiator and are committed to active listening to determine ways to deliver shared value. 


What you’ll do 

  • Proactively visits customers on site and establishes relationships with Procurement Leaders in key provincial accounts and owns the customer experience for Commercial Contracting (contract life-cycle management, value-creation, total-cost of ownership) 

  • Collaborate with the sales team to support deal creation & monitoring across all key provincial accounts including the preparation of proposals, quotes & total cost of ownership models. 

  • Support the achievement of regional squad objectives by ensuring the production of accurate and timely contract & pricing information, including analysis and trending reports. 

  • Identify new business opportunities (based on RFP websites & customer/prospect interactions) and potential business at risk. Highlight these for the regional squad, suggest, and implement corrective actions and strategies based on in-depth knowledge of the account and their procurement goals (i.e. value-based procurement) & contract performance analysis. Recommend performance improvement strategies to impact outcome of the contracts. 

  • Scans the business landscape for trends, issues and opportunities to create value and opportunities for the company. 

  • Provides Insights on provincial performance & makes recommendations to drive profitable growth 

  • Active member of the Commercial Contracting Chapter, engaging in best-practice and industry knowledge sharing.

 
What you’ll need to be successful 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business 

  • Minimum 5 years of contracts and tendering experience. 

  • Prior customer-facing experience, and strong interpersonal skills and confidence around senior-level buying influencers

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel 

  • Experience on SAP an asset 

  • Knowledge of the Diagnostics Industry (laboratories) an asset 

  • Proven ability to manage priorities

  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines 

  • Must be located in the provinces to be served 

  • Ability to travel (25% of time)
