As the Manager, Corporate Development, you will be accountable for driving key partnerships, initiatives and innovations that contribute to the Corporate Development vision of creating long term value for the business and accelerating innovation to patients by developing strategic business collaborations with customers and external companies and driving innovative approaches that differentiate Roche in the market.
Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with potential RDC partners and their management, including CEOs, technical and business development leads, in a manner that builds trust and enhances Roche’s reputation in the market.
Engage with global partnering and lifecycle team counterparts to advance US partnership opportunities as required throughout the process.
Lead and/or support assigned transactions (acquisitions, divestments and partnerships) on behalf of RDC depending on RDC role in transaction. This may include performing due diligence, financial analysis & risk assessments in support of proposed transactions.
Drive execution of assigned partnerships (project management, structuring, financial modeling, negotiations, deal close) and successfully transition those activities into the appropriate business unit team at the appropriate time.
Primary lead for assigned, RDC led external collaboration relationships (Plug N Play - Creasphere Silicon Valley, labs, hospitals innovation hubs/incubators/accelerators and prioritized academic institutions), in US areas of strategic interest in a way that makes Roche a preferred partner.
Facilitates communications and interactions with internal Roche colleagues, both locally and globally, throughout the evaluation, diligence, and alliance processes.
Stays abreast of key trends and developments in US diagnostics through interaction with internal and external subject matter experts.
Drives accelerated access for patients and differentiation for Roche through partnerships or innovative solutions based on strong understanding of US diagnostics and healthcare market dynamics.
Who you are
Masters degree in Business, Marketing, or related clinical field.
5 years previous related experience (marketing, sales and/or clinical field).
Broad awareness of the Diagnostics, Medical Device and/or Pharmaceuticals Industry. Good understanding of US access environment and decision makers
Experience in leading cross functional teams to execute all aspects of partnerships/transactions including direct experience in deal negotiations, execution and integration is preferred
Deep understanding of key drivers of value for transactions and how they can be measured and quantified; outstanding analytic and strategic skills
Strong collaboration skills capable of influencing internal and other decision-makers
Good understanding of all associated relevant legal, compliance and regulatory requirements
Strong strategic thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to innovate and identify business opportunities
Excellent oral and written communication capable of engaging senior executives and other audiences
Travel up to 30%
The home office for this role is located in Indianapolis, IN. Remote locations will be considered.
For Colorado-based applicants, the expected salary range for this position is $140,000 - 180,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits listed below.
