Head of Community Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing Roche’s engagement strategy in the U.S. with community groups focused on Roche’s key priority areas across multiple therapeutic areas and enterprise areas of focus such as disparity of care. Individual will also develop and implement corporate giving strategy.
This is an opportunity to develop partnerships within the community to increase Roche’s understanding of patient dynamics related to access to healthcare. Individual will partner with the VP of Communications, U.S. to prioritize areas of focus.
Head of Community Engagement will serve as the Roche representative to community groups, external advocates, establish and maintain in-depth knowledge of Roche business plans and engage advocates as appropriate to best support the patient community and Roche priorities.
Individual will set and implement the strategy for Corporate Giving for the Indianapolis site and Roche Diagnostics field employees within the U.S.
Accountable for incorporating an understanding of the community needs into the Roche narrative in the U.S.
Develop and implement strategic plan focused on developing key partnerships in the community based on understanding of business priorities
Conduct landscape assessment of all patient advocacy groups focused on key areas of focus for Roche Diagnostics Corporation
Develop relationships with identified groups to increase understanding of community needs and identify collaboration opportunities
Partner with Head of Enterprise External Communications to determine community events, Roche should have a presence at
Collaborate with Government Affairs to understand external landscape, including relevant public policy, disparities in care and patient access issues and consider potential opportunities to engage with the community to increase understanding
Inform and educate internal business partners regarding relevant advocates' current and future interests, needs, and other objectives, including associated implications from policy and legislative environment.
Implement Corporate Giving strategy across Indianapolis site and field employees within the U.S. based on Roche’s priority areas.
Define opportunities to increase impact of current Corporate Giving strategy over the next three-five years.
Oversee Corporate Giving budget and associated team.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
5 years communications, marketing communications or related business experience.
3 years direct or indirect leadership experience
10 years of professional communications experience
Experience in the healthcare industry.
Patient advocacy experience preferred.
Candidates must have experience working with non-profit organizations.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Proven ability in working with and advising C-suite executives.
Solid corporate and business knowledge.
Excellent leadership qualities, including motivating others, team building, and credibility.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence without authority, including demonstrated experience gaining senior-leader perspectives and support.
Proven track record of relationship building with multiple external stakeholders over many years.
Team player that enjoys building partnerships at all levels within an organization.
Demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple projects
