Business Area Communications Lead- Molecular/Pathology

The Opportunity:
As Communications lead for the Molecular/Pathology Business Area, you will lead the development of a U.S. communications strategy for the business area across the portfolio. This includes executive, product milestones, disease awareness, internal and external communications.
The individual is a key member of the Corporate Communications function. The individual will serve as an extended member of the Molecular/Pathology Business Area lead team and will provide strategic counsel to enhance Roche’s leadership in key therapeutic areas. Lead will oversee a team of individuals focused on developing and implementing communications plans in support of marketing milestones in the U.S.
Partner with commercial teams to develop and implement communication plans to support the performance optimization of key products, which includes product milestones such as launches.
Effectively lead and guide a team of individuals focused on anticipating and effectively managing issues impacting Roche’s brands in Molecular/Pathology Business Area.
Serve as media relations spokesperson on issues specific to Molecular/Pathology in partnership with Enterprise Communications team.
Work closely with Medical Affairs and Government Affairs teams to understand external environment and ensure communications initiatives shape greater understanding of Roche’s products in Molecular/Pathology Business Area.
Develop comprehensive narrative specific to Roche’s presence in Molecular/Pathology key areas aligned with Enterprise narrative.
Drive communications and engagement programs that increase awareness of key disease areas for Molecular/Pathology Business Area in the U.S.
Lead development of launch communications planning and implementation for products in Molecular/Pathology Business Area.
Collaborate closely with U.S. corporate communications peers to ensure Business Area is appropriately represented within internal and external enterprise channels.
Collaborate with global colleagues to tailor global messaging to U.S. specific audiences.
Effectively manage PR agency partners and associated budget.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
10 years communications, marketing communications or related business experience
5 years direct or indirect leadership experience
Preferred:
10 years of professional communications experience.
Experience in the healthcare industry
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Proven ability in working with and advising C-suite executives.
Solid corporate and business knowledge.
Excellent leadership qualities, including motivating others, team building, and credibility.
Team player that enjoys building partnerships at all levels within an organization.
Demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple projects
