Internship Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during the internship
Minimum availability of 6 months, ideally 12 months
Given the current uncertainty of the global pandemic and work from home situation for 2021, the internship is currently planned to be virtual with the option to work remotely
Responsibilities
As the Public Affairs Intern, you will monitor the Belgian socio economic & political environment. Provide strategic advice on its impact and maximizes Roche Diagnostics reputation and opportunities for Roche Diagnostics business. Develop and execute Public Affairs strategies on selected topics to support business goals and policy objectives. Representing Roche Diagnostics with key Belgian stakeholders.
Your specific responsibilities
Shape public policy and resulting legislation/regulation
Represent Roche Diagnostics and manage reputation with key Belgian stakeholders
General political, macro-economical status and trends
Healthcare specific trends on public health, and healthcare reforms
Stakeholder Mapping due to new government:
A list of decision makers and key influencers in the healthcare system
Information on their political party, role and objectives
Formal and informal relationships between stakeholders
Decision makers and influencers and their inter-relationships
Qualifications
University degree in Economics, Political Sciences, Public Health, Law or related field
Preferred PhD candidate
Able to work independently on own initiative
Familiar with the Belgian healthcare system and institutions
Understand the political relationships and sensitivities in Belgium
Fluent in English and Flemish or French
