  • Play a key role in promoting high standards of integrity. Ensure compliance policies and guidelines are in line with global guidelines as well as local laws and regulations through adequate procedures and process controls. Support the local Compliance Officer in fostering a climate and culture of compliance through training, monitoring and proactively addressing compliance issues.

  • Operate as an independent function to give assurance to senior management that business activities are executed within an adequate framework and under consideration of the associated risks. Ensure adequate procedures to timely identify gaps within local policies, processes, procedures and systems and drive initiatives to close these gaps.

  • Support the local affiliate to ensure that official and contractual documents are in line with local laws and the risk for potential litigations is adequately mitigated.

  • Develops, maintains and constantly improves high-quality, effective and efficient operational plans covering compliance, risk management and monitoring policies, directives, procedures, standards, practices and resources to support ongoing compliance for Roche Pharma commercial operations in India.

    • Develops operational plans and enable the relevant  teams to deliver them

    • Plays a lead role in defining, developing and implementing compliance, risk management and monitoring strategies, plans, objectives and metrics. 

    • Drives ongoing assessment and improvement of current practices

    • Drives best practices and ensures commercial compliance is effectively integrated into commercial business practices & activities

    • Stays abreast of relevant local, regional and global internal and external evolving requirements and standards

    • Drives compliance awareness, education, training and adoption

      • Define local training plan in line with global/ regional plan and strategies

      • Develops, delivers and maintains communications, education and other related materials to ensure local organisation awareness, knowledge and skill-building in all matters relating to compliance, risk management and monitoring

      • Adapt training assignment matrix to local needs in line with regional/global guidance

      • Ensures that all employees are trained appropriately and training records are maintained

      • Works with applicable cross-functional teams to ensure current, accurate and appropriate compliance information is incorporated into other relevant employee training & development

  • Effectively conducts internal compliance monitoring and risk management

    • Leads organisational risk & compliance management – discussion, evaluation, monitoring, mitigation and documentation

    • Timely follow up and updates on risk management mitigation plan & actions

    • Conducts and coordinates routine (e.g. process walk-through, sampling) and ad hoc (e.g. deep dives, investigations) compliance monitoring activities

    • Timely follow up and updates on monitoring findings and remedial plan & actions

    • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of internal process & controls

    • Builds a thorough business understanding to provide adequate support to the business

    • Develops a robust internal network (local, regional & global) to stay informed about planned/ executed activities

    • Defines local communication plan in line with global/regional plan and strategies

    • Provides guidance to the business functions and answer their questions regarding the defined compliance standards

    • Acts as the liaison between the local business and stakeholders (internal & external) for all matters relating to compliance governance

    • Responds to all internal and external commercial compliance-related enquiries

    • Determines and manages accordingly those instances where matters should be escalated to the local Compliance Officer 

    • Leads and liaises with key stakeholders and relevant parties on internal or external compliance audits/ reviews

    • Manages relationships and collaboration with peer teams and stakeholders in the affiliate, region and global functions

    • Proactively participates in global/regional network to exchange practice, needs, risks and developments in compliance 

  • Eligibility Criteria (Qualification and  Experience)

  • Post Graduate Preferred 

  • Preferably LLB or certification in compliance courses

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in compliance field with at least 3 years in healthcare compliance 

  • Job Location: Mumbai (HO)

  • Willingness to relocate
