Senior Consultant (Dia R&D IT)

Roche has an opportunity for an IT professional to join the IT Business Operations team in Tucson, AZ.  You will be joining an experienced team of Consultants and Business Analysts that will fully utilize your skills and professional development.  You will be initially assigned to support projects and operational activities in the Roche DIA R&D Business Development & Lifecycles Domain, but you may be shifted to other Domains within IT as projects arise that could utilize your skillset.

As a Senior Consultant in Diagnostics R&D IT, you will have a primary focus on Solution Delivery and Business Analysis and will be responsible for working closely with the business and other IT teams to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to meet the complex and dynamic needs of our continually evolving organization.  Thanks to your deep technical software knowledge, an understanding of modern project management methodologies and extensive business analysis skills, you are able to devise and deliver solutions that enable Roche to provide world-class products.  

Your Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation and design of solutions, procedures and business processes that meet business, customer and technology requirements.

  • Evaluate alternative informatics technologies where required and research industry best practices and emerging trends.

  • Develop end-to-end software solutions and manage the respective business critical knowledge within the said area of expertise.

  • Responsible for software development and/or customization work associated with the implementation or maintenance of a computerized system / application software.

  • Translate complex business requirements into detailed requirements.

  • As part of a project team, work to optimize and implement processes where required, impacting global infrastructure and applications within the job scope. 

  • Ensure that existing governance is observed, indicates areas for improvement and proposes solutions and implementation guidance.

  • Ensure alignment to defined technology roadmap.

  • Develop and maintain working method documentation and best practice examples to support business stakeholders in development processes. 

  • Development of documentation relevant to quality as well as system documentation.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 5-10 years of professional IT experience in a major, global organization  

  • Project Management experience  

  • Experience in working in a regulated environment and with Computer System Validation  

  • Experience with SCRUM, Agile methodology desirable  

  • Software development experience (HTML, CSS, Angular, JavaScript, PHP) a plus

  • Server software configuration and maintenance experience a plus

  • Experience in the healthcare, diagnostics, and/or information technologies industry is assessed as a plus  

  • Self-directed and able to work across IT and business groups to prioritize and manage your time across a range of concurrent projects.  

Education  

  • Minimum Requirement: BS in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent degree and/or experience.  

  • Preferred: Post graduate qualifications at a Masters level  

  • Expert knowledge in area of expertise and preferably a broad IT experience  

  • Industry recognized certifications in the relevant area a plus.

  • Advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills  

  • Flexibility to travel for up to 20% of time including outside of home country

  • Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours
