We are looking for a passionate and experienced Principal UX Designer in User Research and Design to join our Global Diagnostics User Experience Team (DIA UX). In this exciting role you will be working on the transformation of user and customer experience in healthcare together with a multicultural highly motivated team.  

Key responsibilities

  • Architect user research and usability testing for strategic, complex projects.

  • Coach and mentor designers through the completion of user research and usability testing.

  • Translate user research into powerful insights that impact design and business decisions.

  • Share expertise in documenting and consolidating research results into concise, actionable insights and stories for design and product teams.

  • Persuasively communicate research results and design implications to business stakeholders. 

  • Coordinate participant recruiting or user research activities with external agencies.

  • Know how to best translate research learnings into journeys, blueprints, mock-ups, rough prototypes and visualizations.

  • Create foundational systems so quality research can be done by 50+ designers in the course of their hardware, software and experience design.

  • Consistently innovate around centering the patient and user experience in the design process.

  • Be a thought partner for product owners and business leads, strategically contributing to the future of Roche Diagnostics.

Who you are 


You are someone who likes a combination of hands-on project work and leadership, looking to work for a company where your career can grow as your interests do, across functions and geographies. Where you are valued for all of your passions and interests.

  • Advanced degree in Design, Applied Psychology or equivalent work experience 

  • Strong abilities in research and synthesis

  • Healthcare domain experience (preferred)

  • Experienced and trained in a design discipline as well as well-versed in design research

  • Great presentation and communication skills as well as experience in moderating workshops

  • Hands-on pragmatic experience in translating research learnings into design and product decisions

  • Fluent in English
