Communication Strategy & Execution

  • Create and/or partner on communications for the Site Services function as needed, including: All hands deck, organizational announcements, videos, presentations, newsletter, etc. Drive employee alignment/commitment/engagement with Site Services’ vision
  • Establish and drive campus-wide communication strategies, plans, and metrics that support Site Services’ business objectives and priorities
  • Align communications planning and execution with other Site Services initiatives to influence message/brand consistency and a smooth customer experience
  • Independently determine best method and approach to complex communication initiatives, leveraging input from cross-functional subject matter experts
  • Partner with other members of Site Services to determine and deploy the best communication tools/channels (e.g. video, print, graphics) and strategies to provide different employee groups with the information they need in a format that’s easy to find and consume
  • Perform editing or writing assignments, ensuring alignment with overall communication strategy and Site Services narrative
  • Regularly use ingenuity and innovation to create effective communications campaigns addressing complex topics
  • Collaborate on incident and crisis communications as needed


Consult and Coach

  • Coach the organization, not only on effective communications, but on how to make strategic operational decisions that will more effectively realize their target objectives (e.g. improved customer experience)
  • Lead, consult and coach stakeholders in 1:1 and group environments on the best approach to effectively communicate the subject-matter; this includes an in-depth analysis of relevant information, audience, and goals by asking thoughtful questions that lead the team to the most impactful messaging
  • Leverage strategic consulting skills to influence brand consistency, aligned messaging, polished and thoughtful deliverables, web presence and enhanced customer experiences
  • Coach leaders on sensitive topics and develop talking points/memos as needed
  • Influence the overall objectives and long-range goals of Site Services’ programs through bold leadership
  • Manage work activities of and provide mentorship to other Communications Team members as needed
  • Partner with Corporate Relations on projects that have a high impact on employees


Change Management

  • Apply change management concepts to high impact communication plans that involve behavior change
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders on communication strategies
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance to communication plans
  • Build awareness and inspire change adoption and change advocacy across Site Services and stakeholder groups in engaging ways




Education: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with equivalent expertise


Experience / Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead communications strategies with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (executive communications experience a plus)
  • Strong executive influence skills and content development skills; ability to act as a role model to teach others. Demonstrated ability to influence with or without authority, facilitate groups with diverse perspectives, bring teams to consensus/alignment
  • Demonstrates leadership and flexibility, as well as the ability to build rapport and trust with cross-functional teams and senior leaders
  • Proven track record of influencing and coaching leaders to enhance their communications capabilities and skills, including the ability to challenge and provide feedback in order to drive more effective communications
  • Proven ability to build relationships across a diverse organization, fostering trust and credibility. Comfortable working and collaborating with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Skilled at understanding multi-channel communication environments and appropriately leveraging the right channel for the right message 
  • Ability to think through the impact of the physical environment on communications and change management plans, including processes, engineering controls and signage 
  • Ability to turn complex ideas into stories easily understood by a broad audience.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations
  • Technical knowledge regarding posting content to the web and how web content systems work
  • Strong prioritization, communication, and project management skills. Must be flexible and able to prioritize, make decisions and meet sudden deadlines in a fast-paced, energetic environment
  • Independent self-starter able to write quickly under deadline with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technical competency working with Google applications, Mailchimp, and WordPress
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
