Mission:

As an IT Business Partner for the Scientific Decision Support Network in PD Informatics you will work closely with the Roche Immunology, Infectious Diseases and Ophthalmology Therapeutic Area (I2O) teams, developing the business understanding to effectively support opportunities enabled by Information and Technology. I2O is part of the larger Clinical Science (PDC) organization whose mission is to develop and execute innovative and robust product development programs to deliver well-characterized and differentiated medicines to patients with medical need.


What you’ll be working on:

  • You will partner with business stakeholders in the Scientific Decision Support Network and co-create technology-enabled business strategies/cases with colleagues

  • Provide strategic direction, prioritization, mobilization of resources aligned to shared business objectives with respective areas

  • Actively participate in strategy setting meetings in PD Informatics, Scientific Decision Support and across Informatics

  • Take leadership role that educates, advises and challenges to enrich business area strategy for the benefit of the whole

  • Negotiate and influence to ensure the right product managers and product owners are assigned to key initiatives

  • Understand the data needs of I2O TA and offer data solutions to enable stakeholders answer scientific questions

  • Proactively identify business opportunities and work with business and informatics partners to architect, design, prototype and deliver continually improved products

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics or related experience; PhD a plus.

  • 5-7+  years post-graduate experience leading technical project portfolio management applications

  • Has business domain knowledge of Pharma Late Stage Clinical Science, specifically around using different types of data to enable data driven decision making

  • Nurtures and develops a collaborative, consultative and value driven partnership

  • Has an understanding of, and practical experience applying, advanced analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to solve Drug Development challenges

  • Exhibits a high degree of self-awareness, empathy, listening, active curiosity, awareness of different norms and expectations

  • Well-networked, has a cross organization perspective, connects the dots and adds the external perspective

    • Exhibits an Agile mindset in the approach to work, i.e.:

    • Enables a diverse group of partners to speak with a single voice

    • Good enough instead of perfection

    • Focus on “Reuse before Buy before Make” when providing direction on future solutions

  • Exhibits intellectual curiosity and integrity and has strong passion to bring value-adding technology to the business 

  • Exhibits strong soft skills typically required as an Informatics Business Partner (i.e.: active listening, influencing, challenging the status quo)

  • Understands, for example, the protocol development and medical data review requirements and is keen to find automation opportunities in such business processes

  • Experience with R, Shiny, Python, Spotfire and other analytical tools preferred

  • Solid understanding of global Late Stage Drug Development and ideally of the disease area in the scope of Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Ophthalmology

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
