Field Applications Specialist

Our Field Applications Specialists provide a stellar experience to customers by participating in the sale cycle, configuring systems and providing technical troubleshooting of Roche solutions. You play a key part in helping to transform healthcare across the country. Success in this role relies on your detailed understanding of technical issues related to our integrated systems and reagents and your ability to communicate and build solid relationships with customers. Combined with your logical approach to troubleshooting, you will leverage your technical expertise and communication skills to resolve issues efficiently, often while under stressful time constraints. What You’ll do

  • Use your keen understanding of laboratory workings and instrumentation to install and configure instruments and related reagents including setting up/optimising assays
  • Provide post-sales support to customers to aid in establishing new assays and answering technical inquiries
  • Perform or assist with software upgrades of customer instrument base and Install applications or assays on Roche platforms according to guidelines
  • Establish a plan to visit and/or communicate with each assigned customer on a cycle or frequency matching the customers’ needs and support requirements and Roche’s business priorities
  • Provide various on-site customer training as needed
  • Present Roche technical and application solutions to customers during demos
  • Assist Sales with RFP’s by acting as subject matter expert on technical issues
  • Use your technical documentation abilities to record customer interactions and customer visits
  • Review bulletins, established key performance indicators and service metrics as required, suggesting and implementing solutions

What you will need to be successful

  • Must have a Medical Laboratory Technologist diploma or degree (MLT)
  • 3+ years relevant hospital or private lab experience in Clinical Chemistry
  • Strong, logical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong customer service and commercial focus
  • Mastery of English communication with strong presentation skills
  • Be a creative, solutions thinker; able to work under pressure while maintaining composure
  • This role requires frequent travel, extensive driving within the province with occasional national travel and ability to be available for after-hours work
  • You must have a valid driver’s license with clean driver’s record and valid passport to be able to travel to the US and Europe as needed
