The Field Medical Specialist shapes the Clinical Ecosystem for a specific therapeutic area through collaborations and creating / leveraging networks with external stakeholders in this ecosystem to ensure fast access with better outcomes for more patients. 

In this role you define and implement (medical) ecosystem customer strategy - connecting with key players in the ecosystem and to each other and to Roche. You will proactively identify ecosystem issues, opportunities and trends and brings these customer insight into the squad for development of (medical components) of strategy/ VP for a specific therapeutic area. You will be partnering directly with Field Access Manager (FAM) and Strategic Healthcare Partner (SHP) in communicating clinical and economic value of Roche medicines and services to key DMU stakeholders.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain & shape medical networks/clinical ecosystem, across different types of stakeholders

  • Develop customer / market development strategies across key external stakeholders in ecosystem

  • Maintain knowledge of, and generate relevant insights into, ecosystem, clinical practice and relevant product content

  • Bring customer insights/ knowledge/ needs (“pains/gains”) from field into squads

  • First medical point of contact for external stakeholders and relevant internal stakeholders (PAM, FAM, SHP, MVM, ClinOps, etc)

  • Identify and address customer data (analysis) / evidence needs and ensure these are addressed

  • Address training/ information and education needs of external stakeholders (partnering with SHP)/ Co-create solutions for customer needs

  • Communicate (with SHP/ FAM) medical value propositions to stakeholders and DMU members.

You will bring the following expertise and experience:

  • Track record of building networks across relevant stakeholders

  • Strong (scientific) medical background - demonstrated track record in communicating value propositions/ respond to customer data and evidence needs

  • In-depth knowledge of NL health care environment and systems

  • Established knowledge base/ skill set in:

    • Data generation (clinical trials; IIS, RWE) activities

    • Working knowledge of VBHC & PHC

    • Working knowledge of pharmacoeconomics

    • Critical interpretation of clinical data

  • Relevant educational background (PhD, MSc, MD) or relevant experience (life sciences industry or HC system).
