The role of a Drug Safety Manager requires an understanding of the key role played by pharmacovigilance in the successful development and marketing of Roche products, as well as knowledge of UK pharmacovigilance (PV) regulations and requirements.

As a Drug Safety Manager and member of UK Drug Safety Leadership team, your role will be to provide leadership and management of a team of Drug Safety professionals within the UK Drug Safety Centre. Your will be making impact by nurturing the people focused culture, enabling the agile working ways and fostering innovation within the team. You will take on direct line management providing the strategic direction to your team. You will ensure the team are coached and developed in order to enhance their individual potential and cross-functional contributions to the business. You will also implement and oversee the necessary procedures and measures to ensure high compliance of the team in the critical PV area. Your expertise in safety will be shared internally with your own team, but also across the wider business including License to Operate function, Medical Affairs, Country Clinical Operation, Medical Information and other functions within UK affiliate and global Drug Safety groups, often providing a safety perspective for a wide variety of projects and topics. You will be the key PV expert during the PV audits and regulatory inspections. You will be promoting the customer centric culture within the team and regularly engaging yourself with internal and external stakeholders, including with MHRA and service providers.

You should be a qualified pharmacist, nurse, degree holder in life sciences, or equivalent and ideally your background will offer proven experience in pharmacovigilance. In order to be considered for the role, a thorough understanding of PV regulatory obligations is essential. Proven experience in stakeholder management with well-developed influencing skills is required along with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. You must be able to act reliably under pressure, to communicate in a manner appropriate to the target audience, and to convey complex issues comprehensibly. Previous line manager experience will be desirable.
