Reporting to the Head, Pharma Informatics US Office, the Sr.Communications/Comms Manager is responsible for co-developing and driving the communications strategy, planning, and rollout of key communications and change management initiatives, for large/complex programs, and for executive communications across Pharma Informatics US.
The Pharma Informatics (PI) Communications Manager will develop, establish and coordinate communications strategy and deliverables for Pharma Informatics (PI) US, as well as partner with global and local communications leads to deliver orchestrated communications execution.
The Communications Manager works closely with IT US-based Senior Leadership and other key Informatics and business partners to develop and execute key communication strategies and organizational change initiatives and programs.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategy and Communications
Responsible for driving communications strategy and key communications initiatives for the Head of IT US.
Co-develop the evolving IT US communication strategy, strategic messaging and content to reflect the vision and priorities of the evolving organization
Collaborate with all levels of the organization, with the responsibility of creating and delivering clear, consistent and effective communications appropriate for targeted stakeholders across multiple channels
Develop/leverage best practices, templates and processes for efficient, repeatable approaches for events and operational comms activities
Lead and implement a wide range of activities, programs, and tools that drive IT US employee engagement
Lead development of content, speakers, and planning for meetings (including but not limited to major/local events, off-sites, leadership meetings)
Own and drive engagement for IT US G+ communities
Lead annual Best Place to Work and other awards submissions in partnership with Corporate Relations and others cross-functional teams
Partner with corporate relations on external thought leadership and media relations initiatives
Participate, as needed/appropriate, in cross-functional or other initiative/project/experiment teams; helping the overall business of Genentech/Roche to continuously evolve, improve and excel in strategic priority programs and initiatives
Operational support for planning activities as needed for the IT US Head
Act in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies
Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies critical to this role:
Bachelors Degree and 12-15 years experience
MBA or other related graduate-level degree and 10-13 years work experience is preferred
Substantial experience developing effective VP level presentations for C-suite and organizational audiences
5 + years' multi-disciplinary work experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/or other related industry with an emphasis on: communications, operations, strategic planning, and/or technology
Proven track record in successfully completing projects or other assignments that have resulted in improvements in areas beyond your immediate scope and responsibilities
Strong interpersonal and partnering skills: proven abilities to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional, often virtual and matrixed teams
Quick learner – Able to align business goals and objectives.
