Product Manager, Data management - DIS

Roche Diagnostics has created a new start-up business charged with building a modern software stack that will change the way patients are cared for. Our challenge is to bring together complex diagnostic and treatment data from medical devices and IT systems within a hospital and intelligently process and present this data to clinicians, researchers, and caregivers to improve research outcomes and patient care. We are looking for candidates with expertise in healthcare IT and the ability to operate in a fast paced environment to join our team and contribute to this exciting initiative.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Product Manager on the DIA team long Term Day-to-day, you will:

  • Proactively work with business units and teams to understand and translate data-driven initiatives and potential ideas into fully developed IT services and solutions

  • Synthesize ideas and suggestions from stakeholders and users to determine what to build based on business priorities, strategy, and vision

  • Create and manage the data analytics roadmap

  • Partner with Service Owner, Service Architect and Data Scientist to shape the development of prioritized solutions

  • Ensure that proposed solutions fit and built within planned and existing technical architectures

  • Communicate and present ideas, data analytics strategy, vision and roadmap to cross-functional executive groups

  • Advise business units on how to leverage our existing enterprise wide analytics technologies, platforms and data assets in the most effective and efficient manner

  • Lead working groups to identify and implement formalized information delivery standards, governance, and frameworks

  • Solicit customer evaluation of Data Analytics performance and devise measures for improvement

  • Help drive adoption and utilization of expanding company data and analytics assets

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop high fidelity prototypes to take to customer sites for user testing.

  • Test and refine designs & prototypes with users and stakeholders to ensure product deliverables meet expectations.

  • Help identify and manage third party vendor relationships and collaborations.

  • Develop protocols and methodologies to measure success criteria for beta site projects.

  • Conduct market assessments and develop business models for new products.

  • Work with highly cross-functional project teams to build and ship commercial products into the market.

  • Contribute to the roadmap and help drive product strategy across the organization.
     

  • Experience and Qualifications

Your skillset likely includes:

  • 6-10 years’ experience in a large IT organization with responsibility and demonstrated success for developing Data and Analytics products or services

  • BS degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Microstrategy

  • Good knowledge of metadata, and using/managing metadata

  • Excellent communication skills and can confidently communicate to all levels of the business from operational to executive

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop products and services. Ability to build interdepartmental relationships

  • The desire to make a difference, engage customers, shape a strategy and build the right solution

  • Exceptional critical reasoning, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lay out edge cases, identify dependencies and lay out the if/then in any scenario

  • Familiarity with the identification and resolution of issues working with disparate sources of data and data quality issues

  • Ability to dig into the fine details of projects but also articulate product strategy and vision

  • Experience working with web, mobile logs and transaction systems

  • Experience with data analysis, experimentation and measurement tools like Optimizely, Google Analytics, or homebuilt systems

  • Working experience building integrations between different products

  • Ability to research and contribute (from a PM perspective) on API development

  • Demonstrated experience translating high-level strategies and visions into product requirements

  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders with varying degrees of technical knowledge

  • Familiarity with hospital environments and different health data systems (PACS, LIS, EMR) is a plus.

  • Experience with customer interviews, user testing, and other user-centric research and design programs.

  • Experience with Scrum and working in an Agile environment.

  • Technology start-up experience, where the need to innovate and execute fast was imperative for success, is a plus.

  • Experience taking at least one product from conception to launch.
